He had just put his pebble’s down when he saw his sister walking towards him looking as if he was going to be proven wrong. “What pebble did you did find? I found a these beautiful pebbles, a brown, striped pebble, and a tan, mottled pebble. Beat THAT.” He said, with a challenging tone.

"Aw...Come on! You don't know anything that happened to the Gathering!?" The kit was a bit disappointed. He had been trying to learn about what happened at the Gathering, but there were no answers given. "Well, can you at least tell us any story? Please?" He whined.

Mistkit smirked, mouth slightly off-kilter because of the rocks she was holding before plopping to her haunches and gently placing her new treasures on the ground.

"I found this dark brown stripy one and THIS one that looks like mom's pelt," she stated, extremely pleased with herself. "Do you think she'll like them?"

"Well, we'll just have to see. I bet she will like mine more." He said, sticking his tongue out before bounding over to their mother. Surely his mother would choose his beautifully textured and smooth pebbles over Mistkit's pebbles.

"Mom! Mom! We have these very pretty pebbles that we found, and we want to know who's better! He said, hopping up to his mother. He dropped his brown-grey striped and sandy-tan mottled pebbles.

"Hey, no fair!" Mistkit shouted after him before quickly scooping her pebbles back up and racing after him.

"Momph wook aht the wewwles aiy wound or yew!" she mumbled through the stones in her mouth before gently putting them down at her feet. "I chose this one cause it looks just like your fur!"

Mistkit grinned up at her mom before suddenly realizing the dust covered state of her pelt and looking a bit sheepish.

The kit couldn’t help but laugh. The pebbles looked better than his sister did.

Larksong smiled affectionately at both the kits. "Oh I think they are all very beautiful. And yes," She studied the one similar to her pelt, "That one really does look a bit like me!" She purred. Looking at Bushkit's pebbles, she pawed the sandy one over to her, looking at it closely, she could see it reminded her of the river. Purring, she pushed it back towards Bushkit. Looking back down at the two kits, she noticed Mistkit's fur. "Oh Mistkit! Your pelt is atrocious." Pulling the kit towards her, she began grooming her.

Mistkit let out a small squeak as her mother pulled her in before squirming a little bit as she began to groom her. "I had to get real close to the dirt to find that one for you mama," she said through squinted eyes as her fur is tugged. "Do you like it? Is it the prettiest?"
