Re: ThunderClan Training Cave
> Batblood
[This is a solo post where Batblood trains on his own (since I wanted to make sure Im never power playing his skill or strength), so this is closed]
Like a large shadow, the tomcat stalked through the forest, his mind for once wandering back to past events rather than focusing on the details of his surroundings. He was a warrior, named at the rouch age of nine rather than somewhere between twelve and twenty-something due to his performance, but he wasn't done with his training. He had a large enough frame not to be mistaken for too young of a cat he hoped, but his reputation was still something he too well care of, and the thought of being a warrior with less the strength of an apprentice didn't exactly excite him.
His former mentor, Sootwind was her name, had gone up in thin air already before his warrior ceremony - though he didn't miss her, and the fact that his mentor hadn't been there for him becoming a warrior didn't bother him - so seeking out her for training was out of the question. And sure, maybe Cinderstar or Sparrowflight would agree to teach him some things, but he still didn't agree with making the first one leader, and the deputy - while seemingly just as sensible as any other warrior - didn't strike him as a prodigy in any field. And when asking someone for training he wanted them to be well-versed in the skill.
So he had taken everything into his own paws, coming out to the training cave for some lone practice. His muscles were one thing he really wanted to train up, since strength was useful in nearly every skill set. It made his blows in battle stronger, made it easier to pin an opponent, made his leap after a squirrel or bird better, improved his running and climbing, and was generally rather useful no matter his situation. So that would be something to work on.
He allowed his amber gaze to scan the place, thinking of different ways to train. He could practice his climbing on the large oaks, run a few laps if he made out a decent path, maybe find a slope to run up to really train up his leg muscles. Either way, he wanted to warm up first, and after taking a decent, somewhat circular path he got into place. To last longer he wanted to make sure his breath and movement were steady, and not run himself into the ground by just trying and going as fast as possible.
So he started a bit of a slower jogging, then - once getting a good rhythm going - steadily increased his speed until he was running properly, paws rhythmically thrumming on the forest floor. After the first lap, he could feel his breath becoming heavier, but he kept going one more, under which he managed to get his breathing to better match his pace and rhythm, and so only finished after yet a third lap. While allowing his breathing to return somewhat, he could feel an odd sense of fulfillment from the activity, but no part of his body was protesting against the exercise.
Next up he chose tree climbing, a somewhat new activity for him, but one he felt he understood the tecnuice of. He picked an oak which bark seemed just rouch enough to easily hook his claws on without being too uneven. His long claws unsheathed and he stretched his body up to place his paw a bit above his head before realizing the somewhat awkward position he was in, and undoing his move. It had felt too unnatural, or instead of his climb up like a spider on a stick, he crouched down at the base of the tree, switched his tail a little so his balance was in the right place, tensed the muscles in his hindlegs, and leaped on to the tree. He landed fine, with all four paws getting a good grasp on the tree bark, from where he began to advance upwards. And he found himself rather pleased with how smoothly it went. It wasn't totally effortless, and he could feel the muscles that he could have to train in order to better hone this skill Thuderclan was so known for, but it wasn't hard, and he knew this could be a good way to escape a dog or fox if one ever came after him when he was alone.
He came back down in the same orderly fashion, and chose to end the training for the day there, since some of his muscles would soon begin to ache a bit, and he didn't want them to get sore, he would have to continue the next day of course. So after a few stretches, he shook his fur and headed back, satisfied with his training for the day.

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Possumpaw - Male[he/him] - Post 44 Oh how he dreaded learning how to climb. He knew he would suck at it as it was much more harder than hunting and fighting. Well at least the apprentice thought so. It was all too much for him to think about it. Possumpaw listened to his movement even used his paws to feel the vibrations of what he was doing. Both helped quite a bit. To him it sounded like he struggled a bit. What if he struggled? He couldn't afford to get hurt. not when he was now so close to becoming a warrior. There was only a couple of things he needed and hopefully he would be able to become one alongside his new friend Emberpaw. If he didn't and she became one before him maybe he'd seek her out to finish his training. Possumpaw waited for him to finish before placing his paw along the bark to get a feel for what he was working with. Once he understood he waited for Pinecrash. He didn't say a word.

Re: Muskrat Mire
@Kateri
would you mind having thrashercall report to shallowshiver?^^ since he's the only warrior on the patrol //
➵ sagepaw [ they/he/she ]
thrashercall's words made sagepaw shift their weight from one paw to another. after a moment of hesitation, they shook their head. "uh..no, i guess..? this should be enough considering there were other hunting patrols.." they shrugged, leaning down to pick up the two pieces of prey that they'd caught. "if you could report to shallowshiver, that'd be great." they added on before taking the prey and beginning their way back to camp.

Re: ThunderClan Territory
~ Sand'Smoke | Solo Post to add to the Prey Pile! ~
~ A breeze seemed to filter through the treetops as a large, sandy-coloured warrior trotted through the woods. Though he was hungry, the clan must be fed first, so, hunting was in store! Coming to a halt, Sand'Smoke lifted his nose to the air, drinking in the forest scents as his maw slowly parted. The senior warrior quickly dropped to a crouch, scenting a mouse a few fox lengths ahead.
Aha! Easy catch,
Sand'Smoke leapt forwards, claws unsheathed and driving into the mouses neck, before one last bite was made. With the rodent hanging limply in the warriors jaw, Sand'Smoke dropped the prey, scooping some brown earth over it before placing an extra pebble on top. He'd return to it later, though for now, the warrior scented a vole, trying to hide in a bush. It seemed to be startled by the warrior, so it'd probably be quick..
But, not quick enough for him. He had 'Smoke' in his name for a reason; It reflected his hunting skills, of course! But, there was not time to be proud.
Again, repeating the leap and claws and bite, Sand'Smoke almost missed his shot, though the warrior quickly caught the voles tail and brought it back to where his mouse was previously hidden. StarClan, he'd love to do some more hunting, but with the plump mouse and a quick-footed vole, Sand'Smoke deemed it fit enough to return.
Retrieving the mouse, Sand'Smoke scooped it up in his jaw, worried that it'd fall out due to his mouth being almost full. Though, luckily enough, Sand'Smoke would be able to return to camp with his catch, perhaps he'd give some pointers to Gentle'Paw, maybe get some more training in soon.. ~

Re: Muskrat Mire
> Batblood [Solo hunting]
This was a place cats didn't come to as often, since apprentices shouldn't really be here. But, while Batblood was only a little over 10 moons old he was still a warrior, and large for his age anyway, so it was a little more safe with his fighting skills as well. One good thing that came from cats not visiting this place too much was the prey that gathered here. Despite having only arrived recently he could already hear the undergrowth buzzing with life and prey.
Blackbird:
He crouched down and allowed himself to snake through the vegetation, paws tracing along the ground as he stalked forward, ears pricked and all senses searching around for something to catch. At it wasn't long before another rustle in the leaves alerted him, and he took in a quiet breath to taste the air in that direction. A blackbird. Yes, he could clearly moth smell it and hear the sound of it struggling with pulling a worm out of the ground. Lean muscles tensed under his sleek fur and he moved his tail into position to gather his balance as Batblood prepared himself for the leap.
One more moment for him to hone in on the exact place of the busy bird, before he lunged forward, bursting through the plants and vegetation and hocking his claws into the blackbird. he could hear its alarming screech and felt it flapping its wing, worm forgotten, as it tried to desperately escape its fate. But that had been sealed the second Batblood caught wind of it, and a swift bite to the neck made it go limp under him. He straightened up and examined his catch more closely, a satisfied hum leaving him as he saw how plump it was. Good, it would make a fine addition to the freshkill pile.
Vole:
But why stop? The blackbird's call had made other creatures around here quiet down a little as they listened after the danger they suspected was near, but the prey was still there, and Batblood wasn't busy. He hid away the round blackbird and felt back into his hunting crouch, more smoothly now with the practice. What next, what next... Maybe he'd be lucky enough to come across a squirrel, a large one he hoped, but any prey would be good, the larger the better, that was all. His wait was a little longer this time while the creatures calmed down again, but soon a scent trail was revealed to him. Hmmm... a vole it seemed. Decent enough, he supposed, and either way, he wasn't one to give up prey.
So once more he took up the hunt and started tracking the rodent. It too seemed to be busy, resuming its duty of eating a nut as Batblood approached. It seemed so idly unaware of the danger slowly creeping up on it, maybe thinking the blackbird had been the only prey the lean feline would go after. A foolish thought that would now cause its death. And once more he gathered himself and prepared for the leap, before lunging at the little thing. This one was easier to kill than the blackbird since it seemed so unknowing of the fact that Batblood was even there, and was dead before it so much as had time to squeak.
All done and now more pleased with his hunt Batblood took the rodent in his jaws and went back to fetch the blackbird as well before heading back.

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Thrushfur's fur blew in the aggressive winds of the territory. He sniffed the air, thankfully he was upwind so that prey couldn't scent him. A small scrap of brown fur jittered in the grasses of the forest. He quickly crouched sliding his belly onto the ground, keeping his tail low and flat. His pupils slit as he focused on the mouse. Sliding his paws closer and closer towards the mouse that seemed to be chewing on something.
He then approached slowly, wiggling a bit as he put one paw in front of the other. He pushed his haunches off the ground and pounced on the mouse that was now scented with fear. It flailed under him until he gave it a killing bite. He picked it up. It seems like he caught a bit of grass in his mouth, he spat out the grass from the side of his mouth and continued onwards back to camp. His tail curved high padding back to camp.

Songblossom padded across to meet Thrashfur. Songblossom just came back from a walk and decided to hunt.
“Thrashfur!” she called, padding over to meet him.
“Would you like to hunt?”

Thrushfur turned his head halting, he's already hunted. But it would be great if there were more prey to feast on. He dropped the mouse below his paws.
" I don't see why not. The more the merrier."
He purred, he picked up the mouse once more turning his head towards Songblossom. Giving a small nod with his tail held up high ready to go.
