ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Well! This did genuinely seem to be a good meeting, with yes remarkable news, but also news that didn't involve death and destruction. Thunderclan had two new medicine cats, albeit rather twitch and nervous ones, who had been prophesied by Starclan no less! Just as Poppybriar had been thinking about their potential non-existence as well! A sign of some sort, that was almost certain. As(she was fairly sure) was the custom in the clans, she sucked in a deep breath to cheer for the new appointments. New warriors got it(not that there'd been many of THOSE lately), so why shouldn't new medicine cats get a nice round of congratulations? No reason in her mind, no reason at all!

Sundust! Rosepaw! Sundust! Rosepaw! she called, joining in with those who were chosing to welcome the new high ranks rather than those(mainly Shiningskies) who didn't seem pleased. However, that contingent seemed quite small, so overall the reception was a positive one. And the new medicine cats seemed quick to get things done as well, which was always a good thing. Not that Poppybriar really wanted to go looking for herbs, that was......a bit too close to a rather unpleasant experience she had had not long enough ago to be completely irrelevant to how she acted. So, it was a relief when several OTHER cats rather than herself were called. She did feel a bit bad that she wasn't helping, but hunting was always an option as well, one she was far more keen to take.

aspenpaw nodded to sundust before turning to softpaw b-bye! D-don’t get i-into any t-trouble he then turned and ran to sundust I-km ready! T-that you f-for letting me h-help. he was glad to be finally helping his clan. He was also glad what he said to shiningskys wasn’t punished. He didn’t know why he expected it to but maybe that was just always his expectation. Though he was unsure why, maybe it was because he was gone so long and expected everybody to have high expectations of him? Oh who knew.

Patchpaw grinned in glee. He was going to be helping the medicine cat! He wondered what herbs he would find. He did remember some pungent smelling plants while he was a rogue, and some sweet smelling plants near his old house. He dashed towards Sundust.

“I’m here!” He mewed, “Where are we going first?” He asked.

The small black kit jumped up hearing Blackjaws voice. The kit hadn't noticed him arrive but her fear soon turned to joy as she smiled widely at the older cat. "Yes please!" she mewed excitedly.

She would surely be the bravest and strongest of all the apprentices in Thunderclan someday if she kept working at it. Maybe she’d even be able to be up on the Thunderwillow too! Brightkit’s imagination seemed to run wild of all the possibilities of her future as her mama licked her head gently. “Oh!” The young kitten replied, glancing at the nursery entrance and then back at Silentclover, “Hey, mom, can I ask you a question?” She didn’t give the she-cat much time to reply before asking her question. “Why was everyone so loud and upset at the last clan meeting? I was out there and everyone seemed so angry! I didn't understand what was happening. Why were cats being sent away?” It was confusing for the small shekit to think about her experience seeing the chaos that seemed to fill the clan clearing a few sunrises ago. Maybe mom could explain.

The fluffy tortoiseshell looked down at her kit a sad look in her eyes. "A lot has been going on in the clans and some cats don't think Dogbark is fit to be a leader of Thunderclan, I'm sure it will all get sorted out so just don't get in the way," The queen muttered to her kit, she wasn't sure telling him was the best idea but she felt that Brightkit was as much a part of Thunderclan as any, and should know just like any other. She hated what was happening to Thunderclan but would do her best to keep her kit as far away from the drama as possible. Licking her kits head gently she let out a purr pulling Brightkit closer to her as she tried to comfort the kit as much as she tried to comfort herself.

He smiled at Wishkit, and put his paw gently on her head. "Would you two like to share a mouse?" He looked at Sharpkit and swiftly licked the small kit, "What do you want?" he thought for a moment, "Or do you want to share?"

The small kit looked up at Blackjaw happily "We can share a mouse! Or Squirrel, or even a bird!" the she-cat mewed naming off the prey she'd eat. She loved sharing and wouldn't mind having to share so that part didn't matter to her as she spoke her voice cheerful even with all the chaos that was her life.

The Molly sat silently, she was lonly, she always felt lonly. She liked the queen, she liked being outside. Why did everything have to go wrong? Why couldn't it be normal? Why couldn't aspenstar walk around like they normally did. Personally she thought starclan was a bunch of fox dung, but she didn't dare say that out loud.

Blackjaw, laughed, he loved how happy Wishkit always was. She always had a smile on her face, and a pep in her step. "Hmm...how about you two share a plump mouse, if that's okay with Sharpkit." The black and gray tom hoped that the prey pile was full, if not, he'd have to hunt for his kits meal. Not that he didn't want to, but they might go hungry, since the weather was as cold as it was.

The small kit licked her lips at the thought of a plump mouse after a gathering. "Yeah! I can't wait till I'm apprentice so I can hunt for the clan!" she mewed excitedly realizing she was almost 6 moons old and she'd be an apprentice sooner than she thought possible.
