A Hero's new home(Open to all)

"Oh, really now?" He finally steps forward past the brush, and promptly sits at the edge of her den. "I bet you couldn't even catch a fat toad if it was right under your nose," the tom chides. Now that she could see him better, she saw that the young cat was a dusky brown tabby with solid black fur on his chest and around his muzzle. "What's your name?" He asks, tail still twitching behind him.

" You younglings always thinking old cats can't do anything. Hm, don't have one. At least not one I care much to us. "

* The old she laid in the entrance to her den smelling the brisk dew air. Mornings to her were always so calming. She hoped today like most days would be peaceful. *

She didn't actually know where she was, but she supposed that was the point. Another family game, and this one was even stranger than the last: Father had taken her out to an insanely far away spot, and she had to navigate home. She sighed. Really, she was far too old for these games. But the new litter seemed to enjoy them, especially if she played, so there really was no choice in the matter. Sapphire wandered around, not wanting to go home just yet. She also didn't remember how to get there, so whatever.

* The old she perked up at the pattering of paws. She sense a cat coming and waited to see if she could see them. Her little hollow was surrounded by trees with an open area out front. She spotted furred ears above the bushes. *
" Hello? "
* She called out hoping for a reply. *

Sapphire stopped dead. She'd just heard a meow somewhere ahead of her. For a moment her ears laid flat and the fur along her spine rose, but she diffused the reaction. The cat who had spoken didn't sound very hostile. She waited for beat, considering, and then she decided that she could use some friends outside of her siblings.

"Hello," she purred in her best Please Make A Good First Impression voice as she carefully leaped over the bushes that blocked the other cat from sight. Beyond the bushes was an open clearing, so it didn't take Sapphire long to locate the other she-cat. "Sorry if I'm intruding, ma'am," she said politely, dipping her head.

* She gave a raspy laugh and shook her head. *
" I'm not too worried. I enjoy some company. "
* She mewed licking her paw and rubbing it over her ears. *

Sapphire smiled, scampering over to sit next to the she-cat. "Oh! Well, my name is Sapphire," she said, remembering to sit up straight just as Mother had taught her. "What might yours be?"

Sapphire blinked a few times, surprised. No name? Then what did her parents call her? She shook her head. That just wouldn't do, no no no. She would give the odd she-cat a name. Sapphire looked her up and down, then thought for a moment before blurting excitedly, "Sophie!" And then she scrambled and pressed her tail over her mouth, shocked that she'd said something so rudely. "Ehm, I meant," she began, slowly and quietly, removing her tail and curling it around her paws, "would me calling you Sophie be alright?"
