With the patrols all sent out, Blazing Sun felt just a bit more relaxed. Energetic, even; she felt her paws prickle like she was standing on warm sand. That pup activity idea was growing more and more appealing by the moment. Eventually, she decided to call out. "Pups of the pack!" she waited until anyone who wanted to be involved made their way to the clearing. "I've got a quick challenge for ya. Winner might even become a trainee next meeting." Depending on age, of course. But still, a little fire in their paws never hurt.

"Whichever one of you manages to climb allll the way to the top of the Meeting Rock wins! I might even get Midnight Star to sit up there so you can give him a good bap when you get up there! But don't think it's gonna be easy." On top of being a difficult climb, Blazing Sun herself was going to make sure they were in for a fun challenge. "I'm gonna be tossin' moss balls at 'cha, so you gotta make sure to dodge 'em!" Hopefully, Midnight Star was willing to participate. "Everyone ready? On your marks, get set, go!"

In order to participate, you must post with your pup attempting to climb. Every two days starting October 5, I will roll a die for each pup posted.

1 means your pup got hit by a moss ball, slipped, and fell all the way to the bottom. Aw, man! Their points are reset.
2-5 means your pup slipped and fell a bit. Oh dear! They lose 1 point.
6-10 means your pup got hit by a moss ball and couldn't climb any further. Their points stay the same.
11-15 means your pup dodged the moss balls and managed to climb a little. Yay! They gain 1 point.
16-20 means your pup was especially lucky and managed to climb a lot. Wow! They gain 2 points.

Pups need to gain a total of 5 points to get to the top and win! If the winner is at least 4 moons, they may skip pup real-time and posting requirements and rank up to trainee early. Woohoo!

Excited, Star trotted over, almost tripping over her own paws in the process. She instantly began to climb, though clumsy, she was fast. It was hard for such a small pup like she was, but she could care less about her size. She had to get to the top!

Upon hearing Blazing Sun's call, the agouti husky had made his way over towards the meeting rock. It felt like a wake up alarm at this point and it definitely shot him awake. Some part of him expected it, but the other half felt like he could do with some more sleep. The sun had barely risen above the horizon when Blazing Sun had rolled out the patrols. Early. Like usual. But it was needed, time was of the essence considering the amount of land they are to cover.

Today's area...the south, huh? Flat. Grassy. Should be a breeze. His first instinct was to wake the kid up. Afterall, his trainee was also to be on the patrol. "Bleak Fang! Rise 'n shine kiddo."

He'd made a quick pause at the 'Fang' part. He's still adjusting to the kid's name change...having it be a part of his...felt... He had no words to describe whatever he was feeling and any sentiment was stuck in his throat.

Bleak Fang - Trainee - In Camp

A patrol? Now? Really? Bleak had just been in the middle of something so very important... trying to soak up the last of the sun before the warmth died for the fall! A far more important task, thanks very much. With a grumble, he rolled to his feet and trotted over to Blazing Sun, ears tilted back slightly. He also wasn't in the mood to get his muzzle chomped for being a disrespectful little weasel.

With a grunt of acknowledgement, he sat down to wait for his mentor and the one with the ridiculous name.

Sleepy

I wanna play! The pup exclaimed inwardly as they bounded over to the game! Climbing! Sleepy wasn’t very climbing climber! And sometimes his legs felt too long and he trips over them, but he liked games! Even if he doesn’t win. “Like a spider!” The pup sung a tiny off key song, wasting no time before trying to climb up the meeting rock.

Pepper's ears perked up at her leaders announcement, what was her name again? Bu.. Burning Sun...? Eh, It didn't matter. She quickly bounded over and listened to the instructions, excitement bubbling up in her chest.

Climb to the top of... the meeting rock? Her dark brown eyes flickered up to the top of the tall rock, gaze catching on Star as the other pup rushed forward and started scrambling to make it to the top. The red heeler was quick to follow.

Wiggle worm heard her name called and strode up her long legs moving quickly In front of her Oh a patrol should be easy enough, then her patrol mates were called frost fang and bleak fang she hadn't talked to either of the two before now. A long sigh escaped her golden muzzle turning to them " Alright lets head out. she barked leading the way out of camp.

Wiggle worm lead the pack through the territory till they reached the flat golden land of the border It was a good place to run, worm loved to run it just made her feel so free. The borzois blue eyes looked back at Frost fang " wanna split up a bit to cover more ground?" she asked worm didn't mind if they split up or stayed together. While she waited for a response a smell the whispers through the wind caught her attention ... the borzoi sniffed more promptly raising her snout up closing her eyes to focus on the scent. The air lingered a faint scent of coyote. Wiggle worm let out a soft growl Frost fang do you smell that too? she asked the husky hoping she wasn't being paranoid.

There wasn’t a lot that Shadow Blaze felt. He was a dog of action, of doing what needed to be done without the clutter of emotions or unnecessary thoughts. The sun had barely begun its rise, casting long shadows across the camp as he stood at the edge of camp, methodically sharpening his claws against a large stone. It was part of his routine—something to focus on while the world slowly woke up around him. The scrape of claws on rock echoed softly in the quiet, his dark brown eyes scanning the camp with disinterest. But the moment his name was called, his large ears perked up slightly, his movements pausing. It seemed Blazing Sun wanted him for a patrol, and it was something to distract his mind from everything. He turned his head, the faintest flicker of acknowledgment crossing his stoic features. With a slow, deliberate stretch, he shook out his thick, jet-black fur and rose to his full height. As he made his way toward Blazing Sun, the same calm determination settled in his step. He dipped his head slightly. “Understood.” came his low, rumbling response, his voice as controlled as ever. His dark eyes flicked briefly toward Swift Smoke before he turned, already preparing himself for the patrol ahead as he waited for his packmate. There was no need for questions or further words. Shadow Blaze knew his duty, and when it came to guarding and protecting the pack, he always did what needed to be done.

Swift Smoke ambled over at Blazing Sun's call, flashing a grin to his patrolmate. "Yes'm," he drawled then looked at Shadow Blaze. "Y'ready to head out?" Swift Smoke hadn't been over to the border in a minute, so he was curious to scope out the prey activity over there. With winter looming over them it was important to stock up as much as possible now.

Sweet Maple

Sweet Maple paced the edge of the camp, her long pointed ears perked up for even the slightest sounds of danger. Danger could be anywhere, the Red Heeler had realized when she'd still lived alone. Danger could be anywhere, and it didn´t care who had to pay its prices.

Brown eyes were flicking around the camp, Sweet Maple´s shoulders rolling in relief only when she realized that ever member, trainee, and pup was safe and secure within.

A pungent smell hit his nose as they made their way into the territory. Before he could say anything, his train of thought was interrupted by an inquiry from Wiggle Worm. Split up? Preferably not. He didn't have eyes on the back of his head to keep track of Wiggle Worm and his trainee. Not that he was too worried about Wiggle Worm, but better safe than sorry.

His mind went back to the scent and it was also confirmed by Wiggle Worm's growl. "Coyote."

Frost Fang nodded in agreement. Though this doesn't smell like it wasn't of a passing scent. This was was notably clearer as they proceeded to the border. These creatures weren't passing by...they're were here to stay.

"Bleak Fang, stay close." The agouti husky gruffy spoke as he'd continued down the border towards the Lake. "Let's scout out th' lake, either we find where they're comin' from or we know where they're stayin'"

"Don't engage in any fight." He'd continued, his tone was low but it was made clear. They don't need injuries to start off the winter. His icy blue eyes looked to Wiggle Worm to confirm their next move. Preferably, they don't find their nest anywhere close to their territory, but only time would tell and that time was today.
