AGAIN. The vulpine creature made a different sound. It was absolutely terrible, and definitely not vulpine. It was deformed, misshapen, and very unnatural. If you listen closely, it almost sounded like an angry cry of the word “Fox.” In English. It jumped down from it’s perch, in front of the people. It looked very angry, as if it absolutely hated the word.

(Guys I'm backtracking a bit cuz you lost me :wail: Sorry if the storylines don't align, I'm working off I draft I had from before... Jeff  )
"Hey!" cried Peya. A moment alone with a beautiful girl and a stranger walks up and gets a flower? Time to play the hero. "Don't lay a hand on her!" Attempting to look casual and buff at the same time, he leaned against the wall of the building but only succeeded in skinning his elbow. "Babycakes, don't worry," he added standing upright and brushing at his elbow, "the name's Peya. And I don't need any--" he glared at Jeff-- "Supervision."
Turning back to Sage, he assumed a more solemn expression than he had previously held. "You... wouldn't have happened to see a girl pass this way? About yea high, golden eyes, giant head of hair that looks like a curly bush?"
To elaborate, Peya made springing motions about his head as if to impersonate fluffy curls.
"If you do happen to see her..." Peya bit his lip. "Tell her I'm sorry, okay?"
He sighed. "Look, if you just point me towards the town, I'll be out of your hair. Sorry to be a trouble." His rapid change in demeanor was obviously surprising to the two onlookers, but Peya seemed sincere.
Suddenly, out of the blue, a wild, strangled cry pierced the air from somewhere above the group. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" screeched Peya, stumbling backward. "What was that?"
