Witheredstar managed to catch a small elephant shrew, she had started to walk back over to Rabbitwhisker before she spotted something headed to one of the nearest, most sickly zebra.
A rogue male lion. Despite how far she was from Rabbitwhisker, Witheredstar dropped the shrew and sped up, trying to get to her clanmate before the lion realized they were there.

The Blind Cat Moved With Confendance Despite Being Blinded From A Lion. They Weren't Scared, They Didn't Cower, As They Scented A Lion Upwind. Lone, And With A Wound. They Picked Up His Pace, Walking Towards The Beast To Hear It's Pawsteps. They Leaned Down, Body Flat To The Earth To Absorb All Vibrations Given Off. Sickly Zebra Was Scented, They Could Hear It's Heavy, Rasping Breathing, It's Stressed Hoofclops, The Lions Strong Pawsteps... Then Came The Zebra's Painfilled Squeals As It Was Brutally Murdered. His Claws Dug Into The Ground. It Took Every Fiber Of His Being Not To Attempt An Attack On The Beast. He Stayed Put As The Squeals Died Away.

Rabbitwhisker noticed movement and looked over to see Witheredstar, a ways away, headed towards her quickly. The bobtailed she-cat tipped her head, holding her prey in her mouth. The leader seemed to be hurrying; was something wrong? Rabbitwhisker's green eyes flicked about.

A lion. She could see the large feline as it stalked forward, toward the striped zebra. It wasn't too close by . . . but it was frightening enough to make Rabbitwhisker's ears flatten and her pelt prick with nerves.

As Witheredstar neared, Rabbitwhisker set her prey by her paws, nervously sniffing the air and trying to make sure the grass obscured her from the lion's possible line of sight.

She could smell the lion, of course, and the zebra, whose scent told the warrior it was unwell. She could also smell her prey and some of the dirt she had dug up, planning to bury it for later. Witheredstar's scent was coming closer as well . . . But Rabbitwhisker swore that there was another cat's scent nearby.

Starwalker Rose And Rushed Away From The Spot They Had Settled, And Skitted To A Stop At Their Clan mates. It Should Move On Soon If We Take Cover. They Blinked, Blank Stare Looking Towards The Sound Of Their Clanmates.

Witheredstar was quickly beside Rabbitwhisker, before she saw the clan's deputy, and her sibling, Starwalker. What were they doing out there by themself when hyenas were around?
"Starwalker, why are you out here on your own?" Witheredstar asked "did something happen back at camp?"
Witheredstar was fully aware that Starwalker could move around and hunt perfectly on their own, but what she was worried about was the hyenas.

“Oh, Starwalker, it's you!” Rabbitwhisker was relieved. She hadn't been able to recognize the scent immediately with all the other smells crowding around. She was grateful that it wasn't any threat.

The warrior sat politely back on her hunches and kept her catch of prey at her dusty paws. She pricked her ears, hoping everything was okay back at camp.

I'm Okay, Was Just About To Take A Walk When I Scented A Lion And Sickly Zebra. Needed To Know What Was Happening To Got A Little Closer. Ya know, Lose Of Sight. StarWalker Stared.

"I understand." Witheredstar said as she crouched low "We'll have to wait for that lion to move on so it doesn't scent our prey. It must have been exiled from its pride once it got to the right age."
When a large carcass was around, hyenas may come, so Witheredstar stayed on high alert.

Oh ... oh no, Rabbitwhisker thought, crouching as well and resuming her digging at the earth. She needed to bury this prey so the scent would be at least partly stifled.

Her bobtail twitched and her ears flicked. She wanted to come off as confident ... but she knew it was obvious she was scared. A lion could so easily catch all three cats ...

Don't think about that, Rabbitwhisker ordered her brain. She pawed the rodent into the shallow hole she dug and covered it with the upturned earth. Now they had to wait.

Witheredstar watched the lion. It started to drag it's prey away, toward StarClan knows where. It wasn't in the direction of camp, at least. Witheredstar would have to warn the rest of the clan to watch out for a rogue lion alongside the hyenas. StarClan, why did mother have to die. She thought to herself.
Once the lion was gone, she stood up "Alright, let's grab our prey." She said before trotting to grab the elephant shrew she had killed.
