Falconspirit stopped in the territory. He took a big whiff of the air, the scent of rabbit filling his mouth. "Ok, Cricketpaw," he said, being sure to keep his voice down, "Open your jaws and tell me if you smell something, and if you can recognize it." He decided that would be a good place to start. He hadn't ever mentored an apprentice, so he really didn't know what to start with. @Siren Bliss

It seemed it was not necessary for him to make his own way over to the younger but still similarly aged warrior... well as similar as it was with roughly 15 moons, if not more between them, as Rushingmoor did so himself. Gesturing slightly with a nod in the direction of a gorse bush nearby, the silver tom made his way over and settled down. It wasn't like he wasn't fine with standing up, but when having a chat, or something that did not appear to involve immediate action, he did prefer to sit down or at least, be less formal. Usually it did the trick for the other cat as well.

Just because he was a high ranking member of the clan did not mean he wasn't a cat first. He might be a deputy but he was a cat deputy, not a deputy cat. He was someone before he was his rank and it didn't define him, and hence he did prefer to just... have more relaxed talk. It would be the first non-formal talk in a true while, in all honesty, and he was still settling in with everything and everything was and still remained such a new experience for him. He'd never expected it, in all honesty, especially considering he wasn't all that young and battle hungry and harsh on anyone... except when they did something that put themselves in danger.

Nevertheless he gave the tom a look over again, before answering the question that had been asked, "Outside of sending patrols, getting weird reports about a mystical dog that then proceeded to vanish, I don't know. Still a whole lot overwhelming but I guess that was to be expected. A lot... more time on the paws, than I know how to deal with." Because there was all these things he could be doing but a lot wasn't particularly useful. "How with you? Been seeing you lots around our leader, and with that," he didn't want to insult whatever the little creature that kept hanging onto the warrior and leader was but, he couldn't avoid it,"little pest that's been clinging to you?"

Snakepaw was fully pacified back to curiously sniffing at every little thing as he moved to keep pace with his mentor and Snailswirl making a point to learn the directions for himself just in case. And sure he could let them all walk in silence but that was boring so as the three headed off he idly asked "Sooooo not a lotta trees here, Does it get very cold with the wind here then?"

robinpaw smiled at stagpaw. he liked that spirit! except… spiders were bad. spiders were liars, thieves, cheats, spies — you couldn’t trust spiders. oh, and he was pretty sure touching one would like basically kill him, and he would like to live please. he didn’t want to be mean, though, so he just said, “aye! yes you can! and then you can eat n murder them and mush them into itty bitty pieces until you’re sure it’s dead! <3!” robinpaw exclaimed. robinpaw gave snailsie a smile too, hearing some murmuring about a beehive or something — eee, speaking of, a beehive sounded cool — before nodding. “okie dokie snailsie! got it! can do! race ya over to stag! you can beat me, i believe in you!” robinpaw beamed, not doing any form of a countdown before he went to dash after stagpaw. the apprentice glanced over to check if his favorite snailsie was coming; he was glad he'd been signed up on a patrol with his Favorite Adult!!

Swankit was satisfied when the apprentice apologized so quickly. It made him feel justified--even more so than when he first criticized her. Yeah, you should be sorry, he thought, smoothing the ruffles out of his fur. But....everyone made mistakes he supposed. Quiver sounded quite remorseful about her actions. Feeling magnanimous all of a sudden, Swan sighed, then nodded in Quiverpaw's direction without looking. "You're forgiven, I guess."

What- no picking nests? Swankit only really looked at the apprentice when she told him that. He gasped, as if affronted by the very idea of having a nest at the edge, because that really just wouldn't work for him! Not at all. He would get way too much sun, and then Swan wouldn't be able to sleep, and then he'd never make it past apprenticeship because of how tired he was, and-- well it would ruin his whole life!!!

"But I got here first!" Swankit whined said in a very dignified manner. "I really don't understand why I can't just take this one." The white and black tom curled into the nest, sticking his nose in the moss, because he was NOT leaving. "I don't know what a totem pole is, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to be at the bottom of it."

Creekdash couldn't help but laugh at Twilightstar's comment. "Ha! You know it!" Creekdash: The young warrior that acted like an elder. Didn't sound to catchy yet but the idea was funny.
Getting himself together a little bit, he nodded. Yes, it was better than nothing but still. And he nodded. "Breezefeather seems like he'll make a great deputy, good choice." He smiled, the way his interacted with Twilighstar was quite different from how he interacted with most others. Maybe beside Crowpaw or Eldersky, but those where body his best friends, one being practically his little brother.
Moving onto the leader's next question, he thought for a second. "Well, maybe to keep the prey from freezing solid we build a sort of den for them? Wouldn't have to be a tall of course but, something just to keep the snow off of them and keep it a little more dry. Maybe line it with moss to keep more water out too?"

Stepping in, the huge silver spotted molly sat down in front of Twilightstar. This was such a hard decision to make. And she hated that she had to make it. "I-... I believe I want to join WindClan. I just... can't go back to ShadowClan if Dawnstar is in power.."

Rushingmoor followed behind Breezefeather as the older Tom picked a place for them to relax and chat. He was interested in hearing how the switch from warrior to deputy had gone for him and whether he was tired of constantly dealing with the more tailless, as he and Twiggy had put it once, members of the clan. It appeared from his answer that he hadn’t necessarily grown tired of that aspect yet, though he did seem to find the job understandably different.

The striped warrior snorted at the question posed to him and briefly wondered if that was all he was known for among the clan- the fool who hung around Twi and their pest. This method of avoiding brewing about the two cats he only ever spent time with really wasn’t working as well as he had hoped.

“I suppose Stagpaw wrangling could be considered a job. Twi and I are just friends and I guess coparents since she informally adopted Stag and i unofficially adopted him too? In all honesty, I don’t really know where we all stand. I love the little weirdo like a son so I’ve just taken to calling him that. Twi never expressed irritation at my swooping in on her adopted kid so I don’t think she minds. She was the one who started it by putting my on babysitting duty in the first place so I don’t think she gets much say at this point. Besides, at least I watch over Stag so she doesn’t have to- though with the most recent... swim of ours I might be getting fired.”

Rushingmoor snorted and rolled over in his sleep. He hadn’t gotten much of it since the... incident and he had finally managed to reach full sleep this time only to be greeted by replaying nightmares of badgers and gorges. Was he doomed to lose the only two cats he cared about? It seemed so. Even if they both were alive, for now, his foolish mouth and his foolish son had dashed any chances of a normal, not awkward continued friendship between him and Twigs.

It wasn’t his fault he’d blurted it out! Mushy had never really felt anything for anyone before! He didn’t have any family as far as he knew and his mentor hadn’t been the touchy feely type so it wasn’t like he had much experience with... feelings. He hadn’t even realized he liked Twi as more than a friend until he’d thought he was going to lose her and now he really was going to lose her. Was it too soon to feel this way? Did other cats not just fall for emotionally reserved leaders? Was he not supposed to tell her? Should he pretend he hadn’t? Stars, even unconscious, dreamland Mushy knew he needed some serious advice. It didn’t seem he was about to get it.
