Shadow leaped back slightly, startled. She hadn't thought anyone would see her, she steps in tentatively. "Uh, hi, I don't mean to intrude . . . I just saw the boxes and wanted to see what was going on . . . I remember seeing them when I was still a kittypet . . . " @Willowfern

She decide to see what was going on, and peered into the twolegden, hesitating, unsure of whether to go in or not. For all she knew, the kittypet that lived here could be highly territorial. Saji-Kei turned his head to the new cat, locking eyes with them.
He continued to stare blankly at them.
This is a staring contest now and only Saji-Kei is aware of that.

(Well, she is usually way smarter than that, but the memory that the boxes brought up made her very curious, so she decided to risk it and go check it out. XD)

Saji-Kei continued to stare at her, his face completely blank and his full attention directed towards her. He said nothing and made no movements, still as a statue. His eyes started to water. He wanted to blink. But he must not. He must win this staring contest!

Shadow regarded the tom warily. Why the heck was he staring at her? She directed her attention to the other cats, making sure none of them were a threat, ready to bolt if need be.

Suddenly, Saji-Kei jumped to his feet.
HA! I win! It's against the rules to look away!
The small tortoiseshell flicked his tail triumphantly and finally blinked.

Shadow jumps at his outburst, tail flicking nervously. "What . . . staring contest?" She says, backing away towards the door slightly. Dang her curiosity, this definitely wasn't one of her best ideas.

Saji-Kei looked very proud of himself and decided to boast to his new friend.
He turned to Dracula.
Did you see that? I won!
He said with his head high. He sounded like an annoying third grader.
