She batted it around before passing it back to Lionkit,"But maybe that's why we aren't supposed to go in the forest. It makes sense now! They don't want us to be kidnapped by the twolegs! It made sense in her brain now. Even if she didn't know about pretty much any predators she knew not to go into the forest now at least.

"ya maybe but twolegs dont come out a bunch at least that far" lionkit said he was still confused " maybe because of some fox?" he said there had to be more than one reason

"A fox? What's that?" Cederkit didn't know what a fox was. She thought that only a few things exited. Cats, twolegs, and the things they ate.

" a fox is a orange and white... thing that is bigger than a cat though not by a lot, they hae sharp teeth and like to eat cats. though they dont come out a lot thats why kits that go out never see them" lionkit said he explaind it as best he could

Oblivious to any irritation, Flutterkit jumped on the opportunity to be a storyteller. "Well, we weren't suppoooosed to. Technically. But we caught something, didn't we? We're as good as any apprentice!" The old light of mischief crept into her eye as she gazed at Flamepaw. "Tawnykit caught her mouse right away, and I pounced on mine--" Flutterkit leaped with enthusiastic reinactment-- "Like this, except I couldn't figure out how to, uh, kill it. " Flutterkit's tail whisked the dust with a small flush of embarrassment, but she continued on just as quickly. "So Tawnykit killed it for me. And we buried them, just like real warriors, to come back for them! Except that we walked and walked and walked, but then we got lost, and we smelled strange cats and--" The stream of chatter suddenly ceased, as she averted her eyes guiltily. "Well, Lionpaw had to come rescue us. But we could have found our way back on our own!" she hurried to add. Anxious to dissuade any skepticism (even though it might have echoed her own, though she wouldn't admit it), she wailed-- "Well, we would have!"

The bouncy, talkative kit stared back defiantly at the other two. "It's all true!"

She nodded barely grasping what a fox was. "It likes to eat us?" Her eyes were filled with awe. "Do we taste good?" Cederkit said more to herself than Lionkit. She put her paw into her mouth then immediately took it out. "Nope, we don't taste good." She said disgusted but smiling at the same time.

"I guess that makes sence." Cederkit knew that cats were predators, but they were also prey? Boy was life confusing. How can you be two opposites at the same time? she thought. Well one day she would figure it out, just not that day.
