On the walk back to camp her fur had pretty much dried off - thanks to the shortness of it - and Redhawk didn't look like a drowned rat as much anymore. Figuring that Drizzlenight and Asterpaw would be able to drop off the herbs they had collected, Red instead sought out the medicine cat and padded over.

"C-Cattail Pond was a sss-success! We ff-found quite a ff-few herbs for y-you; I hope t-they're helpful!" ...She should probably address her damp fur. "I, uh, m-may have fff-fallen in - but d-d-don't worry! I'm o-okay." A grin spread across her face as if to reassure the medicine cat. With that, Redhawk waited to see if the medicine cat had anything else for her to do. If not, she would go drop these herbs off and curl up in her nest to warm the rest of the way up.

FAMILY PATROL! FAMILY PATROL! FAAAAAAAAAAMILY BORDER PATROL!

The tripod was prancing around at the call for patrolling despite border patrols generally being a hated task, simply ecstatic at the chance to have good family walkies. Sure Wolfpaw still didnt like them and sure, it was the riverclan border which was tense lately (though to be honest that was all of thunderclans borders at the moment) but it was family walkies!

So yes, there was a salute to Spider-dude over the assignment then happy prancing and dancing in place as the tripod waiting for their sister and kinda nephew to gather.

Being assigned to a patrol was great news - until Wolfpaw heard Mudhound's name. He couldn't say he appreciated being stuck with that one, but he kept his expression guarded as he awaited Bumba. She'd make this worthwhile, at least.

Ooo, patrol. Bumblestar had done a solo outing a few days back but it'd been a while since she'd been called for something. "You got it." Mudhound and Wolfpaw, Smallpines combo patrol. This might be interesting. "Let's head out. Hopefully the slugs've been behaving recently." Otherwise a certain RiverClan leader would be getting claws in her throat.

Heading back to camp with Lioncrest and Featherpaw in tow, Yarrowcrest makes his way to the medicine cat den to drop off his findings before padding his way over to Drizzlecloud. Offering her a dip of his head and a smile, he begins his report.

"Herb patrol was successful. We got everything you asked for-- in excess, if you ask me. Nothing out of the ordinary in that area, either, from what I could see and smell. Let me know if you need anything else of me."

Oops. Wildtwist was a tad late to the party. He nodded to his apprentice and patrolmate. "alright, let's head out," leaf mewed.

Featherpaw trotted behind Yarrowcrest, placing down her sticks and juniper branch. First patrol ever, done and dusted! And she hadn't even had any issues, despite the fact that she'd been sent to Herondive Hollow. No Cloudpaw, no Valleystrike, no trouble!

They stayed quiet as Yarrowcrest reported back, listening carefully for when they were a warrior and leading their own patrols.

~ Lioncrest ~

Apparently Lioncrest was far more suited to lead this patrol than Wildtwist; the tom had showed up late, stated that they should leave, and then promptly... not led them to their destination. Clearly the golden tom needed to take initiative here. Returning Leafpaw's greeting with a polite nod, Lioncrest waited for several moments before rising to his paws with a huff and a glance towards their stalling patrol leader.

"I will lead the way since you are clearly struggling to remember our assigned task," he rumbled, giving the other warrior a stern look before heading out the camp entrance. "Come. Let us not waste any further time; we are loosing daylight."

Featherpaw followed Fawnsplash back to camp, mind busy with thoughts of what she was supposed to do about what she'd seen. Maybe I'll ask Fernwillow what to do... She hadn't seen her mother around lately, and besides, her mentor seemed like more of an impartial judge than the cat who had half-clan kits...

Eggbite was their patrol leader and they hadn't seen her since they darted off to try hunt, but Fawnsplash was still the warrior here - they'd wait for them to report back to Spiderthroat. It wasn't like they had any prey to report anyway...

The young warrior began making her way back to camp, annoyed by the fact that they were assigned to a hunting patrol in a place where it was pretty much impossible to hunt. When they arrived at the patrol place, she made her way over to Spiderthroat, offering an encouraging smille to Featherpaw who appeared to be bothered by something.

Anyways - back to the report. "We went to Herondive Hollow and marked the border. I'm unsure where Eggbite went, but it appears she just ran off somewhere and didn't follow us home. About the hunting - all there was was crickets, we searched the whole area but there wasn't a single animal lingering around. Herondive isn't the best place for hunting," she mewed.
