~ TULIPPAW OF WINDCLAN ~
Tulippaw had decided that she was done waiting on Sorrelhawk to train her. Plenty of time had passed since the day she'd been made an apprentice, but he had not taken her out on a territory tour, or shown her anything, really. It had been nice to relax around camp, and take a break after that horrid patrol - Tulippaw would
never go near that border again, unless she had to, then she'd just be really careful, but the thought of it made her shudder - but anyway, she was going to take it into her own paws to get a new mentor.
Twilightstar will be so proud of me! I'm such a responsible cat, Tulippaw thought. Before heading to the leader's den, she had taken extra time to groom her pelt, making it look even more perfect and sleek than it already was. Her posture was immaculate, and her head was held high.
Tulippaw elegantly padded into Twilightstar's den. She fought down a light wave of nausea at the leader's scars. Tulippaw didn't judge cats for the scars they had. It was just the idea of how they'd gotten them that disturbed her. An accident, or bravely in battle, the scars told a story, even if they detracted from overall appearance a bit, depending on the cat. However, the thought of claws slashing into her and leaving permanent marks made her feel nauseous. Pain, blood... ugh! Every warrior had to face it, and Tulippaw knew she had to, but the idea of getting hurt, or even worse, having her pelt ruined by the struggles of fighting, did not appeal to her in the slightest.
Training to be a great WindClan warrior did appeal to her, though, and that's why she was here, with Twilightstar. Tulippaw dipped her head to the lilac-furred leader.
"Hello, Twilightstar. I hope you don't mind if I talk to you," she meowed in a sweet, friendly voice.
"My mentor, Sorrelhawk, hasn't taken me out for a training session, and it's been quite some time since the meeting. I was wondering if I could have a new mentor? I don't want to wait any longer, or else I fear I'll fall behind the other apprentices." Tulippaw didn't like Sorrelhawk very much, anyway. She didn't judge him for his limited ability to speak - in fact, she found it intriguing how cats with disabilities adjusted and used special techniques, depending on the disability, to help their Clan. However, Sorrelhawk had been confusing, and he hadn't seemed to take any note of her extensive beauty. So, it would be a win-win situation if she got a new mentor!
I don't want someone who doesn't take their job to mentor me very seriously, Tulippaw thought disdainfully. She was the best of the best; they had to take her and her family more seriously than any of the other apprentices!
