She sniffed around, smelling the same fishy smell everywhere that made no sense, Thunderclan didn’t even have fish in it’s territory!
But, then she realized, she wasn’t in Thunderclan territory...

She was in Riverclan!

Thistlestep had been fortunate enough to be refreshing the markers when he caught the scent of ThunderClan and paused, confused. Did they find out about this..? SkyClan's old territory had laid forgotten by the other Clans for moons, surely.

No, upon tracking the scent it quickly became clear it belonged to a kit. "Aren't you a ways from home." Seriously. This was a long journey for his Clan, and they were closer-- how did a kit get here?!

Laurelkit looked at the warrior with fear in her eyes,
“I snuck away to clear my head, I was looking for camp again! I’m not hostile! I swear!” She mewed.

Thistlestep wasn't sure how one could get so lost but he didn't want to go down that rabbit hole. "Look, how about I take you back home? You're not going to find your way back from here. It's at least half a day's walk."

Thistlestep closed the distance between them but instead of picking her up by the scruff, he crouched down low enough so that she should have been able to climb onto his back.

"If I scruffed you, it'd be painful for both of us with how long this trek is. If you climb on, we'll be off."

“Okay, Thanks!” Laurelkit climbed on his back and for a moment put her tiny claws out to steady herself,”Oops! Sorry, Did I accidentally claw you?”

Thistlestep rose to his paws, hardly feeling her claws through his fur. "Hold on tight!"

And he was off, carrying Laurelkit back into the direction of the ThunderClan border.

Laurelkit bounced along on his back, gripping him as tight as she could without extending her claws out all the way,
“O-okay-y-y, Th-th-thank-s-s-s fo-o-or ta-taking m-m-me-e home!”

Ivyshine felt relief pool into her bones, struck by weariness but also heartache as she recognized Skyclan territory. Finally... She thought, crossing the border into the rocky, forested territory without a second thought, overwhelmed with happiness to finally be home. But... What is that smell? She thought, eyes narrowing as she slowed her pace to a walk. She had long left the Twoleg's in the dust but she wasn't sure if this was her home. Had she made the wrong turn? Was this the wrong rocky patch of forest? Confused, she stayed near the border, unsure on if some cat would come. A patrol - or the lack of one - would stop her worry. Hoping some cat would hurry up as she impatiently flicked her tail, she finally decided to call out into the first. "Hello? Any cat there?" She asked curiously, voice raspy from lack of use.
