As the sun shines and the night disappears I will be watching with a heart full of tears.
Pebble sat silently in the corner of a hollowed out tree. The tree was large and roomy yet filled to the brim with anything soft to make a nest… and cat hair… her cat hair more specifically. Pebble was a Lykoi cat, a cat that didn’t have much hair. Her thin pelt didn’t give her much protection. The cold got to her quickly and the sun burned her easily. Her face had almost no hair, and her eyes where large round circles. Some cats thought of her scary, others thought she was ugly. Though Pebble didn’t care. She had learned to not dwell on things. Her past had taught her that. Loosing two kits was hard, after that she had become… angry with herself. Slowly but surly her last kit had died too. That was when she had made up her mind. She wouldn’t dwell in the past. Her past had more sorrow than that. Much more. Now, pebble was an old cat who found joy in telling story’s about anything she could think of. Now was time for one of those story’s.
“Who’s ready for a story?” she called out. Then she sat. Waiting.
