Bandit was wondering this cold, empty space. Where am I? How do I find my way home? The small dirty pup whimpered. He was lost. Why did he have to chase that butterfly? Why? Why? Why? He howled, not realizing that predators might find him.

Slate's fur bristled when he heard the howl, golden eyes sharpening and ears pricking as his claws unsheathed. He wasn't going to be killed by a dog. Not when he was so close to getting to Bristle. He would be there. He had too.
