Frozen Winter Nights (P)

~Teenage girl~
Snow fell gently from the sky, making the girl smile. She opened the door from her father's truck, before stepping out. The snow fell against her head, and unlike what usually happens, it didn't melt. She held out her hand so a snowflake could land on it. A small, pointy snowflake landed. She put her hand at her side again, pottinger hand in the pocket in her pale-blue shorts. She pulled out a jar, and set the snowflake in it. Her brown hair gently blew as a night breeze blew at her.

A young man, around 16 or 17 cautiously snuck out of an alley. He'd been running from his 'father' for a couple hours now after escaping, but he could definitely tell he was running out of places to go. The young man was watching behind him when he stepped into the young woman's path without even really noticing.

The 14 year old looked up from her jar, only to see a young man in front of her. She stumbled backward, with a following, "OW!" As her head slammed against the ground. "Excuse me?" She said, lifting her head from the ground. Her head was now covered in snow. She stood up, brushing some snow off of her legs before shaking the snow off of her head. She grabbed the backpack that fell on the ground next to her.

He flinched watching her hit the ground "I'm so sorry" He reached a hand out but it was already too late, he decided to pretend he was just going for a handshake "Name's Garret" He said, flashing a kind smile her way.

"I'm Ruby." She said, smiling. It was... an interesting way of meeting someone. The man in the truck waved at her, and Ruby waved back. She looked back a Garret. "What are you doing out here, anyway?" She asked brushing snow off of her shorts and tee-shirt. She stood back up, bending the end of her sandal.
