Cali giggled and smiled "Hi, Dad, Papa, Joel, Ivan, Jack, Micheal, Gene, Jim, Fritz, Noah, Alec, Alex, and Eddie!" said Cali.
"Ooo~!" Ivan teased.
"Is that your new girlfriend?" Alex asked, refering to Ari.
"N-no!" Cali replied, flustered.
"I'm just glad you're not dating Nia anymore, she was a brat!" Joel said.
"Shush you guys!" Dad said and smiled at me "How's the run from the police going?" Dad asked and Papa nodded.
"Eh." Cali replied and smiled.
"What city you in?" Eddie asked.
"Uhmmm..." Cali said, they actually weren't sure.

Ari crossed her arms when one of Cali's brothers said girlfriend. They hated being misgendered, even if it was just a little thing like that. But, they didn't comment, they just kept leading Cali towards the apartment that they lived in.

Cali smiled at Ari sweetly and said to their family "I'll call you guys later!" and hung up before they could protest. "Sorry about them..." They said, as they noticed something had upset Ari.

Ari shrugged. "It's fine." They opened the door of a tall building, that seemed squished between two bigger ones. It opened to a staircase, which Ari made their way up. They led Cali up three flights of stairs, hallways, and a few doors, before turning on the third floor. Ari opened the second door, and held it for Cali to go in.

It was... not the best place. ✨ T h i n g s ✨ were strewn everywhere, and it seemed to only be three rooms: A bedroom, living room/kitchen, and a bathroom.

Cali smiled, sure it was messy + small but it looked cozy. "Thanks!" They said turning to Ari.
