I just joined. I’m a bit overwhelmed and getting used to being here but I’m trying to figure out how to start. It’s kind of sad though and probably a major setback because my chat box won’t work

Howdy! Welcome to WCO! Sorry to hear about the chat box, it may be blocked on the device you are using but I am unsure. Anyways, I am always open to chat or roleplay if you ever want to vm (visitor message) me on my profile :3 Hope you enjoy your time here!

Also here is the New Member's Guide, which I recommend because it helps you get started and have a better handle of how WCO works. Also it answers some common questions!

The chat box is Discord I believe, so it's quite possible it is blocked on your device or you don't have a account there. Either way, welcome to the WCO, and we hope you have a great time!
