Question: Abandoned Warriors online game?
Hello! I'm Wishlake.
I have been very interested in the topic of the Warriors online game that went silent around 2011.
The site said that they were looking for beta testers in 2010, and the game never saw the light if day after that.
Are there any beta testers here from that time? Because I'm trying to figure out what happened to it, and would love to hear of your experiences!
If not, would any of you happen to have any other info?
I apologize if this is in the wrong thread, I'm still new to how this forum works.
I hope you all have a lovely day!
Signed, Wishlake

Re: Question: Abandoned Warriors online game?
Hi @Wishlake ! I think you're in the right place for this thread, so no worries.
I know which game you're talking about, and they eventually revealed it to be a DnD-esque campaign game with surprisingly little thought behind it for the time it was in development. I believe they called it the Warriors Adventure Game?
Now, it's possible that this was the game in development but marketed... badly, because they did give the impression it was going to be a bigger undertaking than what was finished. Because there are no screenshots or concept art that has emerged from it (i.e. an actual game that was scrapped), this is personally what I choose to think.
But it's still open to debate if they were planning a "real" game, an online version of Warriors, that met roadblocks and was canceled. Rather than coming clean, they made Warriors Adventure Game -- but it doesn't quite add up, assuming there were beta testers that were chosen to test the build (which they could've made up to buy them time, I suppose.) If they were at the beta stages, the game likely would've seen release.
EDIT: After learning further details about it, I'm more convinced of the bait and switch, or maybe that was just unfortunate timing. It does seem like they were heavily implying (but not outright stating) there would be an online game that was upcoming for Warriors in their call for beta testing on the forums. They were incredibly vague in all of the posts surrounding the game, which leads me to believe they were tentative about the content or about its release - or, my new theory, they were not really planning to release a game but wanted information from their customer base. It sounds like beta testers had to fill out a form that detailed their location but lacked questions about experience in testing or system information. That's... odd. Paired with the absence of an alpha build (while looking for beta testers) along with no screenshots, concept art, or information at all, I'm inclined to believe this was to gauge where their customers are so they can fill the appropriate bookstores or simply to generate interest in Warriors.

Re: Question: Abandoned Warriors online game?
Thank you so much for your response!
I've been digging around to try and figure out what happened to it (I'm real big on internet/lost media mysteries, and one about my favorite book series definitely caught my attention), and your reply really helped me out with getting closer to the bottom of this!
It would definitely make sense that they made Warriors Adventure Game to cover their tracks.
Also, is the little message under your username a Tally Hall reference? :0

Re: Question: Abandoned Warriors online game?
In my copies of the Omen of The Stars arc, I have these little 'games' in the back. Each book has a different 'adventure', and it reminds me a lot of Dungeons and Dragons. You have a 'narrator', and you roll a dice to see which action and outcome your 'cat' has. It also reminded me of a 'choose your own adventure' book, as you had to flip through the book to find the outcome of your role and then decide what to do next. They were interesting, but I have no friends who read Warriors, so I couldn't ever do them. Not sure how this helps, but they are called Warriors Adventure Games.

I think it was removed from the official Warriors site, but this site seems to have files for it you can download
