As someone who's used this site for quite awhile, my roleplay style has greatly changed over time. I went from an amateur that exclusively wrote one short paragraph, to someone who could easily pump out a decent-sized and fairly creative peice of work.
The question is, how did I come this far?
Well, that's why I made this post! I'm here to tell you all of the writing tips that have helped me grow significantly as a writer and artist. Some of these are obvious, but others are more helpful even to my fellow practiced writers.
#1- It's okay to model your writing after other's! This can greatly help your development, and teach you to write in many different styles. For instace, I modeled my personal style after the author Katherine Applegate.
#2- Spell check. Always, always, always check you spelling for errors. This will sharply increase your eloquency.
#3- Word generator. I recently started pulling up a random word generator, generating four or five words, and forcing myself to find a way to incorporate them into my post! This can especially help if you're struggling with post length, or if you just don't have any ideas on how to respond.
#4- Never use 'is,' 'was', or 'things.' Just trust me. It looks a lot more professional if you don't.
#5- Synonyms. If you're using a dull word like 'good', try looking up synonyms for it. Most times, something like 'congenial' fits better, and makes you sound more intelligent.
Anyways, that's it for my little list of tips! Enjoy.
