Cottonstrike found himself wandering around again. His heart was still broken from losing his mate all those moons ago. He missed the smile on her face and he never got to see those kits of his growing up. They disappeared along with them. The deaf former Riverclan warrior found his walks quite depressing. He missed his clan almost every single day. Perhaps maybe he should try and find them again.

The white warrior had always thought what Thunderpaw would have done. Wouldn't he have went back to his clan? Perhaps he would as long as his siblings were there. Cottonstrike didn't have any siblings, but Thunderpaw had.

Padding quietly just outside Riverclan territory, was a large, brown tabby. He was a loner, a rogue as most said, and he was searching.
Ever since his mate had left him, and joined Riverclan, Marsh had always said to his brother, “I’ll be back before sunrise. Just going out for a quick hunt!” When really, the tom had ‘wandered’ close to the border, in hope to glimpse his love again.
But alas, Marsh was giving up hope these days. He sighed, turning away from the familiar landscape and started padding back to Fisher’s Point. But wait... were those pawsteps?

Cottonstrike felt the vibrations of pawsteps coming closer. The white tom looked over to see a rogue. He padded over to the side of a tree. He didn't want any trouble. He just wanted to get by. He let out a deep breath before padding out of hiding. He kept his paws very light as to not frighten them. That was the last thing he wanted.

"Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you. I'm far too beaten up to do anything.", he meowed in his slow speech. He wasn't beat up physically, but mentally he was. His life had gone downhill.

The tabby jumped, swinging around to Cottenstrike with fake surprise. He had indeed known this clan cat was nearby, but he thought it best not to say anything about hearing him.
“I would hurt you if I wasn’t in a hurry.” He lied a bit, trying to act gruff. It was true that he was a little late. Leaf would wake very soon, and Marsh would rather not be missing. And besides, he didn’t really feel like talking.
