Thorn let out a weak purr and turned around, heading to the north border. He hadn't let Petal know how weak he was, but he knew he would survive. Lost in thought, he didn't see the flash of russet fur in the bushes behind him. But he did smell something foul. His eyes widened and turned to slits. Fox. Just as he whipped around, the fox lunged, catching his throats in its jaws. Staggering, Thorn let out a gasp before collapsing. Blood poured from his ripped throat, and his last words were, "How cruel fate can be..." Knowing he was about to die, he let out a low chuckle before StarClan came to greet him.

Frostfoot the starclan warrior padded down to thorn. Her eyes gleaming with sadness. She bent down and nuzzled the Tom with her starry nose and drew back. "Thorn... Is it your time to die yet?" asked the she cat. She crouched down and looked at the Tom as death slipped between his skin. The she cat was allowing him the choice, she would carry him to starclan with a. Heavy heart or will another cat to come find him before his time was up
