Milkweed was having so much trouble saying things, he felt tears prick his dull amber hues. He had met the snowy cat not too long ago, and yet he still felt an unusual amount of attachment to him. And if Windystar lost Milkweed, he didn’t know what he’d do. Finally, the feline spoke, and the words brought shame and guilt flooding into his heart, stabbing it like claws. And he deserved it. He didn’t deserve to look into Milkweeds eyes and apologize. So he settled for looking at the dirt beneath his paws. “Milkweed, I...” He started, before his voice choked up with emotion. He was so terrible, why did he have to do this? He didn’t think of Milkweed, or of ShadowClan. All he thought of was stopping Fallenstar, which was very much impossible. “I’m sorry, and nothing excuses what I’ve done. I... I didn’t think of you, or of anyone else, and I’m so so sorry.” ’I don’t deserve your forgiveness,’ He silently added, not wanting to make the conversation about him.

Dipping his head, Windystar smiled. “That’s great.” And honestly, he hoped he wasn’t coming off as too distant. But as a leader, he had to word everything he said carefully. Even the most simple of phrases could be molded into a weapon against him, against ShadowClan, against the Clans themselves. In a way, it was pressuring. But he’d live with it. For now. Peeking up at Forestshade, the long-furred feline purred. “That’s awesome! I caught a blue jay... yesterday, was it? Everything is a great addition to the prey pile.” He felt a bit bad that included his catch in, but now it felt less formal. And he liked that. “Hmm? No, it’s just you seem like a very good cat and I’ve been likening to talk to you, maybe become friends?” That was actually what he wanted. His goal was to befriend as many cats in ShadowClan as he could.

Forestshade smiled “Of course every catch is important.” He spoke carefully as he often spoke sharptounged and uninterested. It was true mostly though he didn’t want to come off like this to his leader. At Windystars next comment Forestshade returned to his normal face. Windystar wanted to be friends with him? Even called him a very good cat. “A very good cat? Half of the clan hates me because of my sister.....” He trailed off at the end as he remembered Doveheart. He felt himself tearing up so he shook his head off. “Become friends? That would be nice. You would be one of my few friends. ” He licked his paw and flicked his ear. Suddenly feeling way less formal He meowed “So what’s been up with you my dude?” He felt like he was living in another cats body for a moment. Forestshade snapped out of it and became more like his stubborn,untrustful,but responsible self. His green eyes flickered with intrest “Did you want to debate something?” He purred looking at the leader.

Ah, winter. Wolfglare’s most favorite time of the season. It felt amazing to be able to walk through the territory and feel perfectly fine, instead of feeling the stuffy heat like all the other months brought. It was an especially frigid morning, but with his thick, black pelt, Wolfglare day comfortably in the clearing. He was gently grooming himself, feeling little touches of cold on his skin from where he moved his fur around to get the layers underneath. It felt good actually, tothe tom, to feel cold for once. That normally only happened when he was soaked, or when the cold was really bad.
Finishing up his grooming, the tom let his icy colored eyes roam around the clearing, taking note of the few cats out and moving about. ”Pansies.” He scoffed to himself, a small, rare smile forming on his maw. Wolfglare seldom made fun of the cats in his clan, most worked as hard as he did, but he found it relieving to do so every once in a while. Cats were just dumb sometimes, or annoying, or mean, or just straight up mouse-brains. Wolfglare didn’t exclude himself from that list. So, of course there were reasons to make fun of others from time to time. Perfectly logical, backed-up reasons.

Nightpaw nodded at his mentor and continued walking. A sudden peculiar scent hit his nose making him flinch.“That’s not Shadowclan,” He mewed in disgust. “What is it?”
