Duckslip's face heated up "well.. I kinda like someone, but I don't think they like me back the same" the calico admitted hiding their face with their paws "and even if we were together and both wanted kits though physically it's just not possible"They said looking down at their paws "Maybe someday I'll find someone who is able to and wants to have kits with me" they said with a chuckle.

"Oh? How come? I don't know either of you to know well enough and situations are different for everyone."

"oh- I suppose I should clarify-" They paused thinking of the right words to say "We were both born mollies so we just... well... can't" They said looking down into the water with a frown, before turning back to the tom, the frown being replaced quickly by a small smile.

"Doesn't mean you can't adopt, no? Nowadays, there are many orphaned kits so I'm sure that even if they weren't biologically yours, they'll still be yours physically."

Duckslip nodded, he had a point “that’s true! However I’ve always wanted biological kits, not sure why, just the connection of carrying them for two moons.. it’s something I’ve wanted since I became a warrior” they admitted sighing softly.

"Family isn't always by blood. Family requires love more than anything. Even if they aren't your biological kits, they'll still be your kits as long as you love them. You can have biological kits who don't consider you family or you don't with them, or you can. Or they might not even be your biological kits but you'd still be family. While you didn't carry them, you raised them. Raising them is longer than carrying them, no?"

"Family is made up by love, not just by blood. Remember that. Don't dwell on not being able to have biological kits. Adopted kits are just as much of a blessing."

They nodded and let out a purr "true, sometimes I wish I could adopt Finkit, but his mom's still around and kickin'" they laughed "He's also going to be an apprentice soon, I wish I could train him but I don't think I'm experienced enough, That's okay though! haven't been a warrior all that long" Duckslip said with a shrug.
