Cedarsong shuffled her paws beneath herself, looking rather puffed up and uncomfortable after shifting her position nearly a dozen times in the past half hour. She wasn’t ill like she seemed, more bored and antsy for something to put her mind to than physically bothered… but, in all honesty, there wasn’t much difference between the feeling of a bad mouse and the feeling of nothing to do, at least in her mind. Despite many of the other queens being early in their pregnancies, she still felt out of place without any kits - unborn or nursing- to show.
She felt herself beginning to wonder, yet again, whether she counted as a queen at all. Suffice to say that train of thought was hastily shut down, but Cedarsong very desperately hoped someone would need some help watching their litter soon, as it was getting more and more difficult to avoid retreating into her mind.

Mintpaw busted in the nursery "Okay! Which one of you lil kittos wanna go on an adventure with a soon to be warrior?" She mewed proudly.

Shadowkit glanced up from grooming his fur, nose twitching at the older she-cat's sudden arrival. Mintpaw. He had passed the apprentice in camp before, but never directly spoken to her. That changed now. "I suppose an 'adventure' would be interesting, at the very least." his blind blue eyes flashed in the sunlight as he stood up, padding toward Mintpaw. Adventure. He wondered what that entailed. Certainly nothing truly interesting. Shadowkit was counting down the days before the kits' attack on RiverClan, but it wasn't time yet - they weren't ready. That would be the most memorable part of his kithood, Shadowkit was sure. This 'adventure' couldn't hold anything to a real battle, right?

Shadowkit almost hissed at the gesture, but held himself back. He wasn't some helpless kit, not how Mintpaw clearly saw him. "Great." he muttered, lashing his tail, head low as he sat down. "What are we doing anyway?" More of a statement than a question, Shadowkit sighed. Through a single action, Mintpaw had shown that she still viewed him as a pathetic kit. He was so, so tired of being seen as... weak. Helpless. Less than. A thought arose- could he ever be a true ThunderClan warrior? His clanmates sure didn't seem to think so, but Shadowkit held onto a single scrap of hope. He had been training- he was strong, and capable, and- well, he could do this!

Shadowkit's eyes widened. No. Not yet- they couldn't speed up the timeline now. He had everything planned out so perfectly- "I can't. Leaving camp as a kit is a violation of the Code." he said softly, voice monotonous as he gazed in Mintpaw's direction, hoping his previous escapade would go unnoticed. "You're hardly an apprentice anyway. We must obey the Code - RiverClan can wait." Shadowkit hoped, more than anything, that Mintpaw would listen to him, but the chance was slim. "Your warrior ceremony could be pushed back if we're caught. I certainly wouldn't want that if I were you." he murmured.

"I.. Okay.. " she looked at her paws sadly.
