Sparrowpelt followed his patrolmates back into the camp, dropping his collection before the medicine cat and waiting to be dismissed. He was a tad late, but he supposed it would be up to Wolfhawk on if he was going to get punished for that or not.

The brown tom turned his head as another patrol returned with a good haul of comfrey... and a wilted one. Wolfhawk would have to throw that one out. "Thanks. But try not to get the wilted ones next time," they said, the last part directed at the patrol leader. "You lot can go now," he said as a dismissal

The last patrol had finally showed up. Wolfhawk was a tad irritated, but at least he got his herbs - and some feverfew as well. "Try not to be late next time. I'll take care of the herbs, You lot are dismissed," they said, annoyance laced in his tone. But now all the patrols were back and he had some herbs now.

Well, Midnightrose's, really. Now that they're home again he feels a little silly that he had a warrior coddle him out there. Probably she didn't mean anything bad by it but he's still embarrassed by himself.

Patrol time again. And this round, Hollowpaw is taking charge. He hadn’t really asked Wolfhawk if he could be the one to send them out, but honestly, even if he had asked the medicine cat would’ve probably said yes and given some suggestions for what herbs to send for. Hollowpaw more or less just told Wolfhawk that he was going to send patrols and then slipped out of the medicine den.

"Listen up!" He calls as he reaches the point just below the Stormcrest, calling to attention all cats currently in the clearing or in their dens. "It’s herb patrol time so if you hear your name get your butt over here.

"Mudhound [ @Rani ], Milkbee [ @Star ], Brindlepaw [ @gs29513 ], you’re lookin’ for juniper berries in the territory. They’re little round, blueish purple berries that grow in trees with needle-like leaves. Not exactly a pine, but similar enough.

"Violetfreckle [ @vellichor ], Peachpaw [ @nyme ], Minkpelt [ @FANNIBAL ], you’re goin’ to Willow’s Rise to look for thyme. It’s a green plant that grows in stalks towards the sky, the leaves are kinds… roundish and long. It smells kinda minty and floral-y almost.

"Mothflame [ @/Star ], Carrioncaller [ @/Neptune. ], Hivepaw [ @nyx ], you’re getting goldenrod out by Firefly Cove. When it flowers it’s got small, yellow blooms that all grow together in clusters on a tall stalk. I’m not sure if it grows well in leaf-bare, so if you find any cobwebs, sticks or moss while you’re there instead, that’ll be acceptable.

"And Sweetswan [ @Beaan ], Sprucejumper [ @Alchemist Kitsune ], and Sunpaw [ @Kix ], I want you lot to get broom from Cattail Pond. This one looks a lot like goldenrod when it’s flowering, but the bits where the blooms sprout are bigger and it’s not a super tall plant… it’s more shrub-like. If you can’t find any, just like the last patrol cobwebs, sticks or moss will be… fine.

"Don’t be late." He finishes with a small intake of breath, long tail coming to wrap around his forepaws while he waits to see if anyone’s going to come up with a pathetic reason they can’t participate in making sure their Clan is healthy.

Hmmm? A patrol? It'd been a long time since Mudhound had been on any sort of patrol but they supposed they werent arguing. They'd been doing a lot better of late, talking if only doing it seldomly to those they werent close with. It'd be.... Nice to do some activity again, to do something helpful rather then rotting. Though, they were still struggling to manage action without instruction still, listlessness dragging at the tripods bones. So good thing this at least had instruction.


"Mmmmmm. Ok Hollowpaw, juniper berries, Im on it."
The reply was... was still dull and depressed for bright outgoing Mudhound, smile similarly short and dimmed, but it was more then had been coming from them for awhile.


"Milkbee Brindlepaw..." Not present but at least Mudhound vaguely knew them both, one from Risingstorm and the other from the shared time in quarantine. "Guess I gotta wait."

The apprentice absentmindedly padded over towards the medicine cat apprentice. They plopped their hindquarters down onto the snow and glanced around for the other patrol members. Perhaps if they didn't think about what just happen, it'll turn out to be fake. So they'll patrol like normal because nothing happened.

Hivepaw instead thought of the plant they needed to find, mumbling the description of the herb under his breath.

It seemed Hivepaw was already ready, so Mothflame padded towards the apprentice, giving them a small nod in greeting. She repeated the descriptions of the herbs multiple times in her head as to not forget, and waited for Carrioncaller to arrive.

"Aye, we'll get this done and over with as quick as possible, yeah? We don't wanna stay out in the territory where it's too cold for too long." She murmured, rolling her shoulders and fluffing out her fur. Brr.

Herb patrol. That wasn't really something Brindlepaw had done before, and he was.....rather intrigued, quite honestly. And Mudhound was pleasant enough, though he didn't really know Milkbee. Juniper berries weren't something he was familiar with, but he figured if they were colorful they couldn't be TOO hard to find. Surely. SURELY. He really hoped so. He didn't want to be embarrassing and fail a real patrol he might actually be able to manage. Hey Mudhound. You seen juniper berries before? He rather hoped they had. That way he could just....copy what they were picking. @Star @Rani

"No indeed," Carrioncaller rumbles his agreement as he joins up with the patrol. Mothflame and Hivepaw. He has had... minimal interaction with both, but socialization was hardly a specialty of his to begin with, so the old tom simply blinks at both of them before nodding his head in the direction of camp's entrance.

"Shall we?" Goldenrod was not an herb he knew well - there were very few of those - so the option to just come back with cobwebs, moss or sticks was looking more and more enticing. Ah, well, the medicine apprentice would have to make do if they couldn't find what he was wanting.
