Swanfeather felt... odd.

He was resting in the edges of the clearing, a rare sight to see for any who looked upon the silver-and-white tabby. It was rare for him to be resting in camp instead of at his stump, preferring to be out in the territory. Out in the wonders of nature. He quite enjoyed the voices of his wordless friends over the squawking of RiverClan camp as the Clan went about their day. Of course, he still did his duties in camp, but otherwise Swanfeather was settled in the territory searching for flowers or other pretty things.

However, as he was crouched down, blue eyes watching all those who passed by, Swanfeather felt a sudden ache in his chest. Like something was constricting it. He gave a light cough, wondering if he hadn't swallowed a meal correctly. Yet the feeling didn't go away, instead spreading to his head. Then his legs. And his tail. Soon his entire body was aching and his vision was blurry, making him rather concerned for his own wellbeing.

Another cough, this time stronger, erupted from him, earning a few sideways glances from his Clanmates. Ah, he must have gotten a cold. Or his allergies were acting up, who knew. It wasn't cause for concern, though. The aching and coughing would go away in time. For now, he would just get a drink of water and wait for it to fade.

No reason for worry.

Once they returned to camp, Thistlestep dropped his food off and dismissed Warblerpaw with a flick of his tail. The trek was long enough that he wasn't concerned with pestering the young tom into working more that day.

"Sootflare, we're back from Lionsrange!" Thistlestep called shortly before he continued. "Hunting went fine, there was a partially dug out badger den we collapsed. The scent was stale so I believe she moved on to better nesting grounds, but it might be worth keeping an eye out for." He didn't believe there was cause to bring attention to their tardiness: he was aware of it, and wasn't too happy himself, but what was done was done. At least they had food and reported in.

Hickoryblaze grinned, shuffling closer to the equally fluffy she-cat. Her dark pelt starkly contrasted with his, something he'd always adored. It looked more unique and exciting that way. It reminded him that as different as they were...they were still lovers. And now they were having a second litter of kits! It was a dream come true. Yet Ashpool's words...choked him. His little Moony upset choked him. He pulled her in closer, offering his tail to twine with hers.
"It's alright, darling. Beetlekit will always be here. And he's going to be so happy when he heard about his new siblings. Alright? It's going to be as good and dandy as we can make it." He purred softly, his new trailing off. He didn't want to give his dearest false hope, but he would hate even more to hurt her. And he really did believe that Beetlekit was watching over them, at this very moment. Purring, he looked up at the sky, still blue. Starclan help us.

Cottonstrike smiled at her compliment. "I find it fits me.", he meowed. The tom looked at the entrance and wondered if he should do some hunting. Then he looked back at Greenpaw. "you up for some hunting?", Cottonstrike asked.

"That sounds great! More experience means I'll be a warrior sooner!" She meowed excitedly.

Skunkpaw lowered her head. She knew deep down that Lionstar was right. She held her tongue and began to speak. "I'm sorry.... I left aftee Frostfall passed. I- I came back because I knew that I needed to. I needed to continue to prove myself. So I apologize for leaving.."

Dreampaw entered camp, her ears flicking nervously. She just vanished after her, Snowpaw and Eagleflower's awkward talk and after Lionstar forbade they ever become mates. She looked around for the golden tom. She hoped he wouldnt be too hard on her. She had time to think and she knew it was time to return.

Goosefury was hiding.

Not from ShadowClan, not this time. No, he was hiding from Rainydawn. He crouched in a secluded corner of camp with his head turned toward the wall and his back facing the main part of RiverClan's clearing. His face was buried in his paws and he constantly released long, self-irritated groans.
It was official: Goosefury was an idiot. He'd accidentally flirted with Rainydawn, a cat he'd only known for what felt like a day, and then she had started flirting back! Then he had to be the dumb one and push her away. He could still hear the hardness in her voice ringing in his ears. He flattened them with his paws, knowing that it would do nothing to block out her voice. "Urghhhhhhh."

A dark cloud seemed to hang over camp that day- or over a particular cat in camp. Rainydawn ranged from grumpy to sad to confused and she wore a frown that would definitely worry any friends she had- if she had any. Great. Something else to be sad about.

Rainydawn sighed and threw her paws over her eyes in frustration. This was exactly what she’d been trying to avoid! She was such a fish brain! Her frustration gave her a jittery energy and she threw herself to her paws with a muffled groan. She needed to do something.

The molly wandered the sides of the camp aimlessly, trying to expend energy while wallowing deep enough in her feelings that she wasn’t paying attention to where she was going. Of course her luck continued to be absolutely terrible because she ended up tripping over a cat. She mumbled a distracted apology before looking at the cat she’d walked into.

Are. You. Kidding me!!

This was it. This was the proof. Starclan hated her. She didn’t know what she’s done to deserve this humiliation but it must have been bad because their he was! Goosefury- exactly the cat she’d been trying to avoid. Rainydawn’s eyes widened perceptibly and she froze- like a fish brain.

The tension was building inside of him. SOMETHING was about to happen. He didn't know what, but he did know he didn't want to be here when it did. He was just about to stand up when some random cat tripped over him and stepped on his head.
He jerked himself to his paws with an "ACK"and scrambled back a few steps. His teeth were bared, and he prepared to absolutely rip into this rando who had the AUDACITY to not pay attention where they were going - when he froze.
What. Why. Why was StarClan torturing him. If they were really watching over him like Rainydawn had said, then they must have been laughing their asses off a this chance meeting. His jaws opened and closed soundlessly as he fought for something to say, anything at all, that would excuse himself from this embarrassing situation and allow him to leave in peace.
What he ended up saying was an unhelpful, tactless, lame-sounding, "Hi."

Goosefury looked positively horrified to see her and Rainydawn wanted to crawl into a hole and die. She might have just crumbled into a ball right at that moment but suddenly she felt herself changing. It was as if she was freezing from the inside out. Suddenly, her heart didn’t hurt but rather felt hard- like it had transformed into stone within her. Everything shifted and she didn’t feel sad anymore. She didn’t feel anything.

Rainydawn’s wide eyes narrowed and turned icy. Her shocked expression melted into one of blank apathy and when she spoke her voice was empty. Inly one thing could possibly give her away- the pained crack in her voice as she spoke the two syllable word.

“Hello.”
