Standing from her spot next to Stonepaw, Briarkit let out a satisfied, relieved purr. At last. She was going to be an apprentice. No dog bite would keep her down, and she was determined, even though starting off 3 moons late, to become a warrior the second she turned 12 moons. She only had three moons to train, but that was the goal, and she planned to stick to it. Maybe she'd even beat Stone to getting a full name! Padding up to the base of the Streamstone, the large, scarred ginger tabby waited patiently, wanting to scream to the heavens.
Looking behind her, she knew Stone was here, but she felt the absence of her father painfully, so to mend the gap even slightly, she sought out Lilycreek. Are you proud of me? She wanted to ask the two cats, but stayed silent, turning back around. She wasn't left behind anymore. She was catching up.
Lilycreek had been watching the whole meeting from the entrance of the nursery, but had stepped out toward the Streamstone for this special moment. Briarkit was becoming a -paw today, she was sure of it. She found her in the crowd as she walked up, and gave her a big smile as they made eye contact. Proud of you, she mouthed. Hopefully Briar would understand.
With all the apprentices but one present and ready for their ceremonies, Beansprout didn't see a point in delaying things any longer. He held meetings frequently enough, and if Spottedkit wanted to become an apprentice at the next meeting, he could fulfill that request. For now, though, a flock of kids stood before him, and it was time to give them new names.
"I'm so glad I can name this many apprentices, especially since we have so few now as-is. So, without further ado, get ready to meet your new mentors."
"Winterkit [ @dragonwind ], you will now be known as Winterpaw. Your mentor will be Nightfall [ @Bean. ].
"Autumnkit [ @Octavia! ], from this day forward, you will be known as Autumnpaw. Your mentor is Briarfang [ @The Doctor ].
"Ivykit [ @/Octavia! ], you will be known as Ivypaw. Hollytail [ @Snowyfeathr ] will be your mentor.
"Ravenkit [ @/Octavia! ], you are now Ravenpaw. Your mentor shall be Rainglow [ @sock ].
"Sunsetkit [ @Pangoligon ], you are now called Sunsetpaw. Troutstone [ @/~LeafRabbit~ ] will be training you.
"Juniperkit [ @Silvershadow13 ], your apprentice name is Juniperpaw. Your mentor will be Snowstripe [ @Silverfur & Co ].
"Talonkit [ @Lillian ], you will now be known as Talonpaw. Tinystorm [ @BEAR. ] will mentor you.
"Minnowkit [ @Beetlenose ] -- as we already have a Minnowpaw [ @Solar ] in RiverClan, your new name shall be Wavepaw. Your mentor will be Whitesnake [ @WinterMara ].
"Bumblekit [ @Joeboe_Bean ], you will be known as Bumblepaw, and your mentor will be Darktwist [ @Shade. ].
"Cormorantkit [ @ares ]. You'll be known as Cormorantpaw, and Graytail [ @~_LuzuraTheTitan_~ ] will be your mentor.
"Beekit [ @Cornbread1233 ], your new name will be Beepaw. Lakeblossom [ @/silvershadow13 ] will train you to become a warrior.
"Springkit [ @Leafie ], you shall be known as Springpaw. Wispwatcher [ @ameko ] will be your mentor.
"Briarkit [ @jupiter ]. This ceremony is long overdue. Your name is now Briarpaw; I entrust Pebblesplash [ @Loveless.Fawn ] to be your mentor.
"Duckkit [ @*Galaxy_Cats* ], you are now Duckpaw. Your mentor will be Ferretsnap [ @lio ].
"Falconkit [ @Chrysanthemum ], You will now be known as Falconpaw. Sharpwhisker [ @/*galaxy_cats* ] will be your mentor.
"Last, but not least, Lionkit [ @Woodlow ], you are now Lionpaw. Darklight [ @/jupiter ] will be training you.

Stars and Moon above, Beansprout was out of breath. He paused to let the new apprentices soak in the moment, meet with their new mentors, and hopefully hear the rest of the Clan join in chanting their names. The siamese was content for now, and if one listened closely, a rumbling purr could be heard from the Streamstone. Once things began to die down, he continued the meeting.
"A few apprentices have come to me seeking new mentors. Will the following apprentices please step forward? Smokepaw [ @/octavia! ], Blueberrypaw [ @/~_luzurathetitan_~ ], Peachpaw, Cinderpaw [ @Queen_Coral ]. Any other apprentices seeking reassignment may step forward at this time as well."
It was a shame that so many cats needed new mentors, but it was, unfortunately, the norm at this point. Cats went missing left and right; it was more difficult to find an apprentice who has only had one mentor than it was to find a rabbit in the wintertime. Shaking out his pelt, Beansprout watched to see who would gather this time.

Yeah, they needed a new mentor but that was- What! A name change! Woah! Woah! Woah! No way he just changed her name like that?!? Why did she have to get her name changed and not them?? The learner stepping swiftly through the crowd closer to the Streamstone. “Wait! Wait! Beansprout! Change my name instead! Let her keep the prefix Minnow and change mine, I’m more than happy to pass it down. Please, change mine instead!” Minnowpaw yelped towards the scarred tomcat. Green eyes meeting his or at least trying too. Yeah, Minnowpaw was attached to their name but, he had it’s fun with it. It was time to let someone else have it, and Minnowkit was the perfect example of that.
You have got to be kidding me. The former ShadowClan warrior looked up at the leader, catbrows raised, as he was informed of the unfortunate news that he was now entrusted with the training of a child. No matter. He was here until the battle, then he'd take his kits and either go home to ShadowClan or start a new life somewhere else. Rising to his paws, the massive scarred tomcat looked around for this 'Lionpaw'. Once he found him, the tom imperiously dipped his head shallowly to tap noses, if the apprentice would allow him, then pulled back to scrutinize the kid.
"Greetings, tiny soldier. I am Darklight, and I'll be guiding you on your path to warriorhood. I'm sure we'll get along well."
Ahhhh! It was happening, Juniperpaw sounded quite nice, Snowstripe, ooo, peering for the cat who was to mentor her, she struggled to maintain a good calm image.

"Finally!"She agreed with a chuckle as she stepped up. Her heart was twisted slightly at Stonepaw's parting words, but she offered him an uncertain, grateful smile. Would he? Are you? Wherever their Dad was, would he really be proud? She wanted to think so. He wasn't a bad guy.
Bri's search through the crowd to locate Lilycreek was successful, and she was quick to shoot a smile at the queen, feeling an excited tingle in her paws. Emerald met emerald, and Briarkit felt her chest swell. Okay. The two most important cats in the Clan to her were here. Catching Lilycreek mouthing something, her brow creasing as she tried to understand.

The phrase she had coveted, searched for, for so long now spoken- or mouthed, to her, and she felt like a cloud. Like she could float away. The molly beamed, and then mouthed a quick, thank you before turning to face the leader at the sound of the ceremonies starting. The large ginger tabby waited patiently, shuffling her paws in anticipation.
"Damn right it is." She muttered softly at the leader's words, but said nothing more. Briarkit didn't even feel her usual temper flare up like it typically would. Blame the dog, she said. If it weren't for that dumb dog, she would've been Briarpaw a long time ago. Quirking an eyebrow as she was given a mentor- Pebblesplash- and hailed as Briarpaw, it was all she could do to not jump up and down with glee. At last.
All she wanted to do now was run to Stonepaw and Lilycreek and celebrate, but she didn't, because she knew she had to find her new mentor. Then she could go and see her loved ones. Moving to pad up to Pebblesplash (after shooting Stonepaw and Lilycreek an excited grin, of course), the scarred apprentice blinked up at the warrior confidently. "It's nice to meet you. I'm excited to train with you." She smiled, rolling her torn shoulders with the slightest hint of nerves. And sadness, because she wished her father was here to see it.
Sunsetkit was listening closely, as Beansprout called each of the kits that was turning an apprentice... and after Ravenkit was Sunsetkit, now Sunsetkit was now Sunsetpaw; an apprentice! They looked around for the mentor that'll be training them, Troutstone; the newly appointed apprentice walked over to their mentor, keeping their excitedness contained...for now at least "hi Troutstone!" they mewed; smiling as usual. They couldn't wait to start training soon
Autumnpaw proudly recieved her new name, smiling beside her siblings, feeling still upset that Summerkit wasn't with her, and Winterpaw and Springpaw. The tricoloured tortoiseshell let out a purr. "Do you think your mentors are gonna be strict?" she asked her seasonal siblings before seeing if she could find their mother among the crowd. The first thing Ivypaw wanted to do after basking in glory for five seconds was search for whoever her new mentor was. Hollytail sounded promising. Their name reminded the brown tabby of her sister, Holly, who ended up getting mauled by foxes. If she was among the coveted stars, Ivypaw hoped she, as well as Ivy, and Burr, were as well. Ravenki- Ravenpaw- however was a nervous wreck. He waited for his mentor to approach him. No social interactions whatsoever. The black tom flicked his white tipped tail anxiously waiting. Smokepaw stood up, waiting for her reassignment. Hoo, boy, I hope I get someone good. The smoke torbie let out a sigh and she wished for the best.

Why?
It was a nice thing to do and Wavepaw would love it, but she would also have been fine with Wavepaw.
Still, Wavepaw walked up towards her new mentor unsure if she should wait for Beansprout to respond or if she should touch noses with the she-cat.

Autumnpaw smiled and walked up to Wavepaw. "It's ok," she told her adopted sister, "You can be Minnowpaw or Wavepaw. Minnowpaw?" she meowed to the other Minnow. "I hope Bean gives you an awesome name."
