It was early in the morning, dawn, as the older tom strode to his usual haunt.
“Good to see that there are a few more cats out lately,” He muttered as he made his way to the low, flat rock, “They’re getting used to my routine.”
Dogbark was so very pleased that he was Deputy, he had always wanted to make a change in ThunderClan, and now he could. Even better, now he could make a change that would last generations perhaps, if he went about it the right way!
The leaves crunched underpaw, as the gray tom leapt on the rock just outside of camp.
Soon Dogbark would have to return to camp for patrols, but now he would sit and enjoy the vast territory that ThunderClan owned, and then go for a hunt.
Because, even though he was a Deputy with many, many different responsibilities, he also had to eat!
Larkstorm saw Dogbark go out of the camp and sit down. Nervously, she approached him and dipped her head to him. Even though he hadn’t been deputy for very long, she still respected him greatly. Even before Dogbark had become deputy she had looked up to him. “Hello Dogbark. Enjoying the nice weather?” She asked politely.

Dogbark turned at the sound of a voice, and saw Larkstorm.
“Hm? Yes, the weather is rather pleasant today, it seems it’ll be leaf-fall soon enough, the air is already getting chillier,” He didn’t relax on the rock, his spine remained coiled,
“Larkstorm… may I ask you something? How do you and the clan think Aspenstar and I are doing? I know Aspenstar is a younger leader, but she’s doing what she can, and I hope you don’t think I’m some sorry old timer,” He chuckled slightly, slightly.

Larkstorm looked on, staying silent. She wanted to give the apprentice some more pointers, but didn’t want to startle the rabbit. So instead she kept her mouth shut and looked on nervously.
@SpottedPaww
She Jumped down into the ditch and pinned the rabbit onto the ground, biting its neck and killing it. She Carried it back up onto the trail and dropped it
Larkstorm thought about her answer. “Well, considering the circumstances on how you and Aspenstar took leadership, I would say your doing pretty well.” She flicked her tail, then added, “And I think ThunderClan needs an old timer like you as deputy.” Wait. What did she just say? Oh StarClan, did she just call her deputy an old timer? Oh mouse-dung.
Spottedpaw dropped the rabbit on front of Larkstorm, who prodded the prey. “Good catch. The leap was perfect, and your reaction was quick and calculated. You’ll be a good hunter when you’re a warrior.”

She Would huff.
"if I Ever even get the chance to be one, If my mentor actually did something with me."
Larkstorm frowned. “Well, then why don’t you just ask Aspenstar to give you another mentor?” She suggested. “I’m sure she’ll give you another one.” Why wouldn’t she?

Larkstorm blinked, shocked into silence. “Excuse me?” She meowed at last. What was Spottedpaw talking about? How could it be pointless? Spottedpaw was acting as if she didn’t want to become a warrior, as if she wished she wasn’t. What had happened to Spottedpaw to make her feel this way?
Larkfrost nodded at the she-cat's words. "Well, the past is the past. I'm sure they are doing well, and they probably have a family of their own. You're here now, and I'm sure you're gonna make the best of it." She smiled, glad that she was able to help her in some way.
"If you ever want to, of course this is only a suggestion, but if you want, I'm sure my kits would love to meet you." She mewed, thinking about how they would begin to freak out at the thought of their mother having a friend they may be able to hangout with. She was kind of nervous saying this, for she didn't want to make Leafecho feel worse about her own kits, but she also wanted to give her an opportunity to meet them. Why? She wasn't sure. Maybe they could help her in some way. Of course, Larkfrost didn't have this all worked out yet, but she just went with what she could.
Leafecho smiled and sighed. She liked that thought. She wanted to imagine all of her kits going on to have families of their own, thriving, and breaking the cycle she'd set for them. Regardless, Larkfrost was right, the past was the past and she couldn't do much about it now.
Leafecho perked up at the suggestion. She was offering to introduce Leafecho to her family! Leafecho purred. "Oh, I'd love to meet your kits."

(Dunno if you know this, SpottedPaw also lost her right eye.
