whistlewing approached her kit and gently licked the top of featherpaw's head proudly. glancing up to follow her kit's gaze, she looked up at the leader. ' that's bumblestar, if you didn't know. she's an amazing leader. i think you'll like her. '

SHOCKKIT

Shockkit sat up, ears perking up. Apprentice ceremonies? Maybe it would finally be her turn. The little she cat strained her ears, hoping and praying her and (ugh, fine) her brother's name would be called. Or maybe just hers. Her brother didn't matter as much (yet). Plus, recently it didn't seem like he wanted it anyways. Her ears fell back down as the tension escaped her body and she flopped to the ground. Her name, as per usual, was not called. Her tail dropped and she dropped her eager stare to the ground, pawing it miserably. She grumbled to herself and sat down on the hard grass. She was pissed. Even more so that Plumkit STILL hadn't shared his secrets with her. Speak of the devil, she gave him a death stare, still annoyed she was not becoming an apprentice today.

SPARKKIT

Sparkkit scrunched his eyes and clenched his teeth as Bumblestar called the names of the kits who were to become apprentices, then sighed, relieved, when his name was not called. He slowly lifted his satisfied gaze to his sister, noticing she wasn't by him anymore. She was sitting by Plumkit. Great, he thought. More messes for me to clean up. Maybe I should hope we do become apprentices, if she feels more of a responsibility and stops being such a hooligan, he thought crossly. He narrowed his eyes at the cause for his troubles, then dropped his hard stare in surprise that the one in speaking was shooting daggers at him. Him? What had he done? He knew why she was upset, but why turn the blame on him? It was but her own fault for her current situation, and she should keep him out of it.

Featherpaw looked up at Whistlewing, pleased with the attention. She was glad to have the opportunity to spend time with her, but still felt a little nervous around her mother. She wasn't quite sure how to act around her yet - she wanted to get to know her and make her proud, but everything in ThunderClan was so different. I'll just have to train harder than every other apprentice, she thought determinedly. That way I can catch up to where they are - no, surpass them. I'll be the best warrior ThunderClan has ever seen, and it will all be because of my hard work.

They looked back up at Bumblestar, wondering what she would announce next. "I hope I do," Featherpaw mewed, voice a little less confident that they would have liked.

a purr sounded from deep in her throat with pride for her kit, which turned sour thinking of valleystrike and her other kit, lost to her. she knew she'd see the kit at gatherings, but still. her kits, taken from her.

' yes. do you have a mentor in thunderclan, yet? ' she asked, looking down with happiness still in her eyes at her kit, sweeping her tail around unconciously to protect her. whistlewing, deep in her heart, felt fear for the kit. she knew featherpaw would face so much hatred from the cats in her clan.

Featherpaw nodded eagerly. "Yeah, Fernwillow! We've been doing some hunting training." She hesitated for a moment. "The hunting is different here than in ShadowClan. Not the prey - well, the prey too - but the forest floor is noisier than the pine needles. But Fernwillow's been teaching me how to hunt here!"

They let out a quiet purr as Whistlewing wrapped her tail around them. "Do you have an apprentice?" they mewed, watching the little kits approach Bumblestar to get their mentors and become -paws.

When Cherrypaw leaned up against her side, she lifted her tail, curling it carefully around the apprentice in hopes of providing her with some comfort. “Ah, I see.. Well, I understand that. When I first became a warrior–or, when I was getting close to finishing my training, I was pretty anxious, too. It’s okay to be scared, but remember that we’re all here for you if you ever need any help, okay?”

Drizzlecloud gave Cherrypaw a playful and affectionate little boop between the ear with her nose before she looked up at Bumblestar as she began to call up a handful of kittens for their apprentice ceremonies.
