What, what was this? Maybe this was a one time thing, or aspenpaw hadn't really been paying attention to it -- probably the latter-- but the fresh kill pile was scarily low. All he managed to gather to his carrying capabilities was two sparrows, a Robin, a perch and a mouse. That was four piece of prey and a total of eleven queens. Maybe he'd get lucky and only four Queens would be hungry but with how many of them there were and how many kits inhabited the nursery. He was sure that wouldn't be the case. Never the less, Aspenpaw was determined to complete his task. If more queens were hungry then he'd just go out hunting for more, with a warrior of course. The grey striped apprentice entered the nursery, duck his way inside and trying his best not to let the prey drag in the dirt. He gave himself a moment to allow his eyes to adjust to the dim lighting of the den, the familiar scents of the nursery reminding him the days when he longed to be an apprentice and escaped the condiment of this den and the clearing. Life as a kit was easier. "Mhmahemed--" he words muffled through the fur of the prey he was carrying.

Aspenpaw placed down on the floor by his paws and looked up again squinting into the darkness and trying make out the figures of the queens amongst kits. "Uh I brought prey, there's only four so far! If you need more I can go hunting or or if you need- uh your nests to be remade or something I can do that too!" that sounded respectful right? Yeah he thinks it does. Aspenpaw didn't know any of the current queens personally, he only knew a few by name like larkwing, her daughter had died recently he'd definitely be giving her one of the four prey- if he could find that was. And Almandchatter, he knew her because she talked to mich- not like him. Not yapping, he meant she gossiped or at least that's what it seemed like she was always doing. Did she even have kits? Probably, at least one of these many ankle biters had to be hers. There were others but he was blanking on names so instead he stood in the entrance of the den waiting to be told what to do or shooed away.

The Fool

Whatever he just chomped was pretty furry, oops it was mother. He wiggled himself forward into her soft warmth, cooing and gurgling in an attempt to make some sort of word towards her. But he couldn’t form anything, not yet.

So instead he outstretched his tiny paws, using them to gently bat and prod at her side. Looking up attempting what sort of looked like a wonky smile. He could smell dad too, his head swivelling in an attempt to show him the smile too.

~~~ she squeaked, blinking her eyes but seeing nothing...s t i l l. "dad...I think my eyes are still closed...why wont my eyes open" she huffed, upset now. she sat down and shook her head, tiny droplets of blood scattering. it was a small cut on her head, she had ran into a jagged part of the den wall...a kit who could see probably would have missed it. ~~~

Creekkit scowled as the other kit approached 'Ugh some cats are so annoying. Can't they just leave me alone?!' Upon hearing the question he said "Fine. Now what do you want?".

His mother's nest was cold but he still laid in it. He wasn't fully sure where Mamamallow or his littermates were at the moment, but he was tired. So he enjoyed the rest, until a paw poked him in the side. He curled tighter in a ball, shutting their eyes tighter. "Nuh uh..." he muttered. That wasn't someone he knew waking him up.
