Lynxpaw knows their late, but he's sure Bumblestar would rather have a report than no knowledge whatsoever. He just hopes she doesn't punish him too harshly since it's only his first one. Spotting the small form of the cream-pelted leader, Lynxpaw makes his way over and gives a respectful dip of his head before starting his report.
"I apologize for our lateness. We made it to the WindClan border and there was another patrol. I guess I've never seen cats from the other Clans before so when I got distracted by looking at them Milkbee and Carrioncaller disappeared. I called out to find them and Milkbee came back, and I think she finished marking the border? I don't actually know but she was near it when she came back. Carrioncaller didn't show back up and I got nervous about being late so I came back with Milkbee. At least, I assume she followed me. Either way, I'm sorry for being late.
Lynxpaw dips his head again, unable to keep his tail from twitching nervously as he looks back at his leader to hear her response. He knows that there's not much he could have done differently, but it still hurts that his first patrol ended up like this. He wants to impress Bumblestar, not make her worry about them because their late or whether the border got marked!
Acornfall nodded approvingly at Flowerhawk and Minkvenom. Minkvenom, for all her talk, didn't come back with much. But it was something, and in his book that meant she did her part. "Alright team, let's head back." He mewed with a happy chirp, picking up his oak leaves and yarrow before turning to lead them back to camp.

Upon his return, he trotted up to Wolfhawk and set his load down. "I think we got a decent load." He mewed, glancing over his shoulder for Flowerhawk and Minkvenom before looking back at the medic. "But if you need more, let me know!"
Flowerhawk couldn’t help but be a little smug that Minkvenom collected the least out of all of them. She followed the others back and dropped her herbs in front of Wolfhawk.

The worry of finding the least amount of yarrow eased as the others moved on. Maybe they hadn't noticed?
Either way, Minkvenom felt grateful for it, but she knew she had to do better next time. Her 'self-encouragement' usually helped to motivate her, but it could get carried away, even to the point of ignorance for her own skills.
The molly took the quiet time during the walk back to think of how she could be the best warrior in Thunderclan, even if it meant (painfully) admitting defeat for now.

The yarrow and oak leaves were dropped with Acornfall and Flowerhawk's bundles, spreading out her collected herbs among the others, before she moved back to stand with the rest of the patrol group.
Minkvenom stayed silent for now, but agreed with Acronfall's suggestion. She was almost looking forward to a second trip so she could actually prove herself right now.

Bravepaw trotted in after his patrol, still holding his horsetail and borage in his jaws. He flicked his tail and waited to be addressed by the medicine cat.
“by the way, Alpinepelt didn’t even bother showing up” The quacker said, voice muffled from the herbs in her mouth. Dummy Alpinepelt. How irresponsible! But Quackpaw wasn’t the one in trouble and she found just as much herbs as the warrior (was it luck or skill, Quacky would like to assume the latter), so she had no problems with it; other than he might as well haven’t been put on this patrol

So here was another patrol coming in straight after, and he took a look around. They were missing a member? Lionfeather reported with no mention of the missing cat, but instead quackpaw did. "Thanks for lettin me know," he told the apprentice kindly before looking back to the warrior. "Next time, let me know if somecat didn't follow ya out or show up," they said irritably. They were a warrior, they should know this! He would take care of alpinepelt after all patrols have reported in.

And here was the next one! It seemed the other cats just left their herbs and had Ravenfire report to him. The medicine cat grabbed the bundle of their findings and nodded his head.

Aha, there they were. Wolfhawk frowned as Lightningpaw finally arrived with a few herbs, his annoyance clear on his face. Oh, and there was Sunstreak as well. "I'll take the herbs. Sunstreak, you're dismissed. Lightningpaw, stay here with me," he told the apprentice.
Once the herbs were all counted he looked up at the apprentice. "I know you said they were faster than you, but that's no excuse. You've been training longer than I've been alive and you should know to stay with your group or tell them to slow down, alright?" the medic told them sternly, lashing his tail. "Unless you have any other concerns, dismissed," he said, holding back a snarl.
