Cobwebpaw nodded "i'll be staying close though" he said in a sorryish tone. "i'm not quite confident in my ability to navagate the territory yet" he meowed before paddling off a ways

Pricklestep walked towards his direction. He lifted his nose a mouse would have to do. As he crouched down and started moving forward s towards it. Leaping and barely catching it. As he held it with it's tail. He quickly killed it before it gots away. As he burried it and gave Grace to Starclan for it's life. He wanted to get closer to the river. He kept his head up in case he could get another chance. As he kept waking he thought to himself. How can a losy warrior who could barely catch a mouse. Lead a hunting patrol!

The downpour. It was terrible. The rain making it almost impossible to catch anything, if the Settlement needed anything right now it was prey and Mumblepaw was guessing there wasn’t going to be any, not here in the open at least, maybe in the ruined tunnels if those were even holding up. The small droplets that hit his pelt in an unknown pattern was bugging him. Ugh! “Gingerfrost? Uh. Do you scent anything?” Calling to the ginger second-in-command as the rain pressed harder on his pelt due to a small breeze that quickly faded. This forever rain was really starting to piss him off! They stopped, pausing to hear the older tomcat’s words.

Raccoonpelt was noticeably easier to see, dark grey and black features sticking out in the grassy landscape. The grass sticking to the learners paws. They raised a paw, trying to flick off the blades that just wouldn’t fall off. Doing the same with all four paws until he just gave up. Thankfully leaving it’s stick at the Settlement just this once while leaving. But Mumblepaw was great full to have the former Shadows that Stalk Settlement member with the four of them, Littlepaw was the only cat here that Mumble wasn’t that familiar with but perhaps this could be a thing to get to know it’s den-mate, calling towards the grey cat to get the guys attention. “Littlepaw? You keeping up with the rain?”

This rain wasn’t doing anything to aid Mumblepaw’s now terrible breathing condition though. The water causing him to swallow some and start coughing heavily. Head down as he managed to calm the coughs down to almost silent as he breathed slowly through his nose to readjust. Switching through his nose and mouth for breathing every so often, the effort it was taking wasn’t helping him either.

Skies above, what the weather was terrible! What started as a simple hunting patrol with a fellow warrior and two apprentices (or was Raccoonpelt still a queen?) had turned into a literal bath. It was pouring down so hard, it made it kind of difficult to even see far beyond a few fox lengths. The rain hit the ginger tabby's face rather uncomfortably, too, and his fur was quickly becoming soaked as though he'd taken a plunge in the river. So much for having thick fur... It was absorbing the water like a sponge. This usually didn't happen with light rain.

Anyway, to put it shortly, the somewhat scruffy tabby was not having it. Still, it seemed they were pushing through for the moment -- although Gingerfrost wouldn't complain about turning back to camp, the thought of abandoning a hunting patrol was not ideal either. Looking Mumblepaw's way as his son spoke, Gingerfrost lightly shook his head in response.
"..Not much. You?"
The heavy rain did do a wonderful job of masking the scents around them. Save for the heavy smell of rain. It must've put whatever prey was out here into hiding, too. How annoying.

Squinting his eyes against the rain, he sniffed the air a moment only to inhale a water droplet which he quickly sneezed away. Yuck.
"Stay close."
He stated, looking between both apprentices. This was not a time to be wandering off in this rain... Not one bit. Mumblepaw asked Littlepaw how he was holding up, at which he looked Raccoonpelt's way as though asking him the same question before his attention was taken by a coughing Mumblepaw.
"You okay?"
