Weather the Storm [Clan-Wide Plot]

Oh stars... this was horrible, the wind was beastly today. Marigold struggled to stay upright as she tried to get to a windblock. "This damn moor has nothing to stop the wind." She snarled, growing increasingly panicked and angry. Looking around wildly as another gust forced her to flatten to the ground, she saw a hole. Wide enough for a cat, probably a den or something. But... but it looked so dark... and small and cramped.

It would be okay, she wouldn't get stuck, the walls wouldn't cave in on her. Screwing her eyes shut, the tortoiseshell pulled herself towards the hole, sliding in stiffly. "Oh-" It was a tunnel?! The wind howled overhead, and she ran. She didn't know where, but only when she crashed into a wall of dirt did she stop. She turned and looked for the entrance, but couldn't see it.

The walls were luminous, they looked like they were going to collapse in on her... Terror shot through her, and she backed into another part of the tunnel. But then she felt herself bump into something. Warm. Furry. Twisting around, she saw it was another cat. "AH!"

When Toadpounce had woken his first thought was surprise that he'd actually slept. He didn't remember falling asleep; he remembered tossing in his belief that he wouldnt get any sleep with the wind howling outside. The wind seemed somehow worse today. He ventured towards the den entrance. The entire warrior's den seemed to be shivering. He wondered how long it could hold under all of the strain from the industry outside.

Moving to the Warren. Toadpounce traced the tunnel routes in his mind, unsure how they'd go about getting there. The wind was hazardous for the heavier warriors yesterday, could they risk the moor with the queens, kits, and apprentices?

Dirtpaw wondered what was happening. He dragged himself out of the den and saw that the wind was picking up and cats were all over the place. He tried to look for Snowstrom, but could see no sign of him. Panicking, he ran to the first warrior he saw - Toadpounce.

“What’s happening?” He asked, panting from the extra exertion he had to use to battle the heavy winds. “Is it a storm? Why did StarClan send a storm to us?” We’re they trying to teach them a lesson? Had they done something to anger them?

Her claws were starting to hurt, Twilightstar's balance has never been quite the same after losing toes but the lack of claws in her hind paws were making it difficult to stay still without squirming here and there and shifting her hind paws to regain some form of traction. It was bothersome and a bit tiring, though, like a good leader she shoved aside her small discomforts and focused her attention on Crowtooth as spoke about how to move the cats.

As soon as Crowtooth explained to her which was the safest route, Twilightstar had already made up her mind on which way the clan was going, but she did wait to hear from Wolffang to see if had anything to offer. A mere glance made her wonder what was going on inside his head. He appeared a tad distracted and Twilightstar couldn't have him elsewhere when the clan needed him here. After this was over, it might be a good idea to take him and Crowtooth out somewhere to talk. They both probably needed it and it would be nice if a friendship budded out it. Everyone could use more friends.

Twilightstar cocked her head and pinned one ear back as Wolffang seemingly talked in circled, it took her a long second to figure out what was up with him. He was extremely reluctant to go to the tunnels, usually, he was pretty bold and courageous when it came to tackling anything the clan needed. Yet he wanted to stay behind when it came to guiding the clan to the Warren? If Wolffang was unease about the tunnels, she could only imagine how the clan would feel. They'll have to suck it up! This was her fault, she should have had the clan down in the tunnels to experience it before paw. There was no time to coddle the clan, she'd just have to deal with the breakdowns when they come.

"The moor is barren of trees and no hills large enough to shelter a whole clan, the tunnels are the safest place. I don't want to lose cats struggling through the wind." She gently explained to Wolffang as she straightened up. Twilightstar cast a looked in the direction of where the patrols had sat moments ago, her single eye clouded over with worry. It was bad enough she was letting warriors and apprentices out like that.

"We'll cut through the tunnels by the camp, we're going to be in the Warren for an extended amount of days, the clan will have to get used to them sooner rather than later." She sighed to Crowtooth and then glanced over at the cats in the den. "If you have them nip at each other's tails and kits carried, perhaps it would be less chaotic." She advised uncertainly, there would probably be some sore tails, but they'd be less likely to deal with cats freezing up or getting lost. Twilightstar just didn't think that they had the time to check the route which is safer, or show cats where to go, and fighting against the wind would be exhausting. She didn't want Crowtooth out in the wind more than needed with his health issues.

"Gather the tunnel trainees, I want to at least get the clan moved to the tunnel outside of camp. They can help guide them, we can discuss more what we'll be doing next from there." It would be a tight squeeze, uncomfortable, and a downright mess, but at least the tunnels were more stable than the dens. If they could get the clan into the tunnels, she'd feel more at ease, and they could figure out how to get to the warren from there.

"Wolffang, you can stay behind and make sure that everyone is out of camp if you are more comfortable that way." Twilightstar would prefer to be in the back, but she wasn't going to push the tom to help Crowtooth with leading if he wasn't up for it. He had better watch every single cat's back, despite how far he's come, there was still this inkling of fear that Wolffang would leave a cat behind out of petty dislike. It was not a comfortable feeling in the slightest.

"WindClan, we're following Crowtooth to the tunnel outside of camp." Twilightstar yowled as she turned to face the cats in the den. "Kits are to be carried, no exceptions. We'll move slowly, but together. Stay low to the ground and follow the cat in front of you. If you get turned around or aren't sure where to go, stay where you are. Wolffang will be staying behind to make sure that everyone gets out and the tunnels safely. Yowl for him." With that done, she turned towards the entrance of the den.

"I need to fetch the apprentices who aren't here." Twilightstar left the two toms in charge as she braved the winds outside once again.

Butterfly hated that plan. What if something was in the tunnels? What if they flooded? What if.. what if... Her thoughts were flooded by these thoughts. She remembered floodfrost. He wasn't scared of a damn thing. She wanted to be like that. She kept her warm smile and she went to follow crowtooth. Butterfly knew the wind if she didn't get into the tunnels in time she was going to be taken off her feet,by the wind.

He simply listened, turning his attention to a.. Familiar cat, Redspark. His face lit with joy, he hadn't seen Red in such a long awaiting time! He smiled brightly, stepping to Redspark. "Hey! Its uhm.. Been quiet a bit!" He awkwardly laughed, Redspark was just so easy to talk to, he was so understanding the last time they met. He felt bad Red's mate was missing, Redspark didn't deserve that, he was a great cat! He hardly paid attention to the leader, his mind more focused on the tom infront of him.

Whirlkit padded over, the wind nearly blowing her off her paws several times. Going over to a random cat, she mewed, "Hi" basically because Whirlkit was bored and there was no one talking to her! She sighed, a bit as the wind blew against her side.

Fang turned his head, his crooked jaw shooting pain in his jaw. ``No, I just wondered in here, but I know who's hole it is...`` He scent the air, then sighed. No WindClan, just a kittypet.`` We`re in trouble if they catch us.`` he muttered to himself.

"Oh who's?? Is it the strange group of cat I keep hearing about?" She is full of questions, but seems to automatically trust the stranger cat. "Don't worry! I'll keep my eyes sharp and nose sniffin'!" almost on cue, she sneezes from the dust.

Pumpkinkit tilted her head, confused. Why was Twilightstar talking about leaving? "What's going on?" She mewed, fearful.

Right he had his orders it was time to move fast before things got worse. Fighting down a coughing fit at the next gust of dust the tom steeled himself pushing down the stinging pain and bellowed "Jaypaw @Singing Jay Cobwebpaw @Naiad Snowypaw @spade and Dawnstreak @Eerie Eclipse. ! On me! We're headed down into the tunnels and I need your help with this! Grab kits grown cats anyone and start funnelling them into the tunnels there an enterance right outside of camp I'll open once were in we can guide cats through there to the warren! Go!" And with that he was off large bulky stature keeping his from flying off as he went to the tunnel enterence right outside camp and pulled the protective flat rock over the enterence away leaving it exposed. Every gasp of air was painful and harsh now the physical exertion of the activity making even more so as he quickly widened the area to be more open and fit more cats. That didnt matter though, the clans saftey was more important. So task done it was time to get cats down there so he could guide them through.



"Alright anyone who's feelin' confident follow me we'll be moving single file holding on to the cat ahead tails if our mouths are free and keeping the cats tail on your shoulder if you've got a kit. Speaking of Ratkit @tomatosoup get over here."
The tom despite how labored his speech and breath was projected his voice over the raging wind ending his explanation as he went to try and pick up Ratkit to make sure the kitten didnt blow away or get lost. He didnt really need his mouth at the front of the line not like he was holding on to tails so he could carry the kitten and be the front of the line with the rest trailing behind.


[Open to any cat evacuating to follow him down the tunnel to the warren! Conga line time!]

Fallownose immediately got to his paws after Twilightstar finished her announcement, sinking his claws into the ground as he made his way over to Crowtooth. He awkwardly paused, before opening his mouth and gently grasping the other tom's tail in his jaws. Yep... this was a bit awkward.
