"Cottonstrike [ @Sparkling Flower], I'd like to speak with you for a moment."

Lionstar had waved his tail to get the white warrior's attention before he took a seat at the edge of the clearing.

Cottonstrke saw the wave of Lionstar's tail and he padded over to the tom. "Did you need me Lionstar?", he asked. He just hoped he wasn't in trouble. Did he do something wrong?

[BEAR.]

"Koistream told me you hardly participated in the hunting patrol Sootflare sent you two on." Lionstar twitched his ears. "What happened?"

Cottonstrike remembered the patrol he went on. He totally forgot about that. "I was trying to find a better spot to hunt which wasn't far away from him. I caught a vole, but when I went back he was gone.", he meowed.

(they didn't tell me until a couple days after that They already did the patrol report and I replied too late)

Otterstrike padded into the clearing, eyes set across at the prey pile. She would grab something small and then go to train by herself, maybe catch another warrior to train with her. She snagged a panfish from the pile, and settled in the open area of the clearing, open to conversation while she ate.

[BEAR.]

That was a bit at once and Lionstar personally didn't care for the outsider explanation. It was about what he already figured. "Are you asking about how the Clan as a whole works?"

That.. required a long explanation and maybe he'd be willing to do it if he liked kits, but he really did not. "I think.. it would be a better experience for you, Amberkit, if you socialized with all of your Clan-mates. Ask each one you meet a question and expand your knowledge through that.

"When you become an apprentice, your mentor will be in charge of teaching you anything you've missed.. but right now your mind still needs time to learn and grow. Answering it all right now wouldn't stick."

Because that's how babies were. They were forgetful and wouldn't remember long lectures. "Why don't you start with the queens? I'm sure they'd love to teach you about the Clan."

Yes, he did call. Probably.

Anyway..

"Look," Lionstar sighed softly. "I'm not blind, Dreampaw [ @Nebby]. I know you're having some issues completing your training with Ripplewhisker and I know that you're trying to be a productive Clan-mate, so here's the deal.

"Snowfern [ @Mumble], if you have some time I'd like for you to help Dreampaw finish up her training so she can become a warrior. She's pretty close to being done.. but her skills are a little rusty from her seasons-long absence, and she's not getting the training she needs from her current mentor."

[BEAR.]

Good to hear, he guessed. If any ThunderClan cats were caught in his territory he could send them packing to the stream thing.

"Thanks for letting me know." He didn't really consider the situation a generous thing.. he wanted to help, and that was exploited. He appreciated the thanks to some extent but it was kind of meaningless unless ThunderClan proved they could handle their own mess from now on. "I'll pass it on to any of your Clan-mates that might be floating around.. is that all?"

So Koistream's statement had been accurate. Lionstar was glad this wasn't going to be a back-and-forth thing.. he didn't really want to be caught up in their drama.

"Next time," he told him. "I think it'd be best to be a little bit faster on the hunt. If you're having issues tracking prey, communication with your patrol leader goes a long way. I know you're better than this, Cottonstrike: don't let your patrol down again, please."
