The brown tabby tom walked through the thick woods. his long furred pelt brushed the bushes and small undergrowth as he padded, panting, needing to go home. Finally, he caught he faint scent of ThunderClan. He smiled, sighing. " I'm home, Ashpool." The ragged tabby rasped, the light falling on his pelt.

It had been... a chaotic past moon. With the death of Eveningstar, the invasion of Riverclan, and the hectic gathering; it had all been too much for the older tom. He needed an escape, somewhere he could focus on his health without Shadowheart or Icicleripple poking their noses in his business every 5 minutes.

He padded up to the border, waiting respectfully for the first Thunderclan cat to greet him. He wasn't sure how much of his scent still clung to his pelt, but he didn't want to alarm anyone else with his return.

Hm. Looked like two of the kits failed to show up. They would have to miss out for now, she wasn't going to waste any more time, for some of these kits, this was too overdue to be put off any more than it already had. But... even after she tried to calm things, the whole Clan was still talking about Sweetsongs departure and the chaos with RiverClan. A soft sigh escaped her, and it was all she could do, not to address them immediately. That could happen later, after the apprentice reassignments and ceremonies took place. But before she could say anything, a very nervous Aspenkit came forward, and reminded her that his name had not been called.

''Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Aspenkit.'' She said, offering the kit, who looked terrified, a small smile. Since he had technically been forgotten, she thought it was appropriate to do him first. Right? Furrowing her brow, she looked critically at the warriors gathered. The majority were not ready, or did not deserve an apprentice, but she knew that one apprentice for each warrior would be best. So no one was overloaded.

''Aspenkit ( @feather lily ), from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Aspenpaw. Your mentor will be Acornpatch ( @kalor ) . "

''Cinderkit ( @littlelove ), from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Cinderpaw. Your mentor will be Tawnybird ( @spade )."

She had something special with little Eggpaw, she related to him a lot, his struggle in coming out, had been similar to her own.

She paused to let the kits- well, apprentices now, find their mentors. A small, satisfied smile conformed her features. One less thing for her to do, a weight had been taken off of her shoulders. ThunderClan was back in, new apprentices meant new warriors. New warriors meant more cats to hunt and gather and patrol... and soon, Firefly Cove would be ThunderClan's once more. Hopefully now that Sweetsong was (probably) gone, the weeds of disloyalty were hopefully gone, and ThunderClan could flourish like it used to. She wanted that to happen so bad, she wanted to help save her Clan. Looking down at the (mostly) eager, happy faces of the new apprentices, she couldn't help but smile wider. They were so eager... they had waited far too long for this, and hopefully their mentors wouldn't disappoint.

And then... there were older apprentices who needed new mentors. But first, the new apprentices needed a moment to find their mentors.

Fernpaw

Impatience was still burning like hot flames inside
him, getting new apprentices was important, sure, but
currently he only cared about was the sanctification of
seeing the surprise and envy on the other apprentices'
faces when Aspenstar announced to take him, Fernpaw
as her new apprentice, he was her cousin and a fantastic
apprentice, plus, she currently didn't have one why wouldn't
she pick him to fill that spot.

He frowned as he heard the name Blueberrykit, that
annoying kit that Fernpaw didn't like one bit. Well, they
got a stupid name at least; Eggpaw, a dump name for
a dump kit.
"Well good luck, Eggkit!" he thought.

The molly bounced up and down, cheering on the other apprentices with a gleeful yowl. "Congratulations to you new apprentices!" She felt pure of pride, remembering when Buckstar had called her name and made her a newly made apprentice. It made her smile sadly, but it was a good memory to remember..especially when her friend Flutterpaw was around. Her heart started to ache from the saddened memory, wishing she was here. Tossing the memory aside, she felt mentally confused to why there were two apprentices named Thunderpaw, it made her brain toss and turn, looking at them with a small puzzled look in her eyes. She surely had thought Slate- THUNDERPAW would of kept her name and made it Slatepaw? Once again, she felt pure pity form in her stomach like a stone dropping into a river. What a horrible name, EGGpaw. That made her feel just guilty saying the name to herself. Blueberrypaw is SUCH a better name for her.

Acornpatch looked up at his sister with an amused expression. Great, I'll be mixing up my apprentice with my sister. He snorted to himself, but pride filled him up greater than it should've. He was a mentor! Looking around for Aspenpaw, he thought of the many things he would teach him. The tom was gonna be a great apprentice, Acorn could tell all ready.

After searching for a minute, the abyssinian found Aspenpaw and smiled. "Ready to be trained by the leader's brother?" He bragged playfully, not meaning it as a gal or achivement. Acornpatch was to teach Aspenpaw the ways of the warrior code, and make sure that he'd grow up to be the greastest warrior for ThunderClan as possible. After the meeting, he would ask his sister if she wanted to join him and Aspenpaw with her apprentice, Eggpaw.

Eggpaw’s eyes grew wide, the name was an interesting one, he wasn’t sure why he was given such a name, but the more he thought about it the more he understood it. He was coming out of his shell, his egg. And then he heard it, his mentor was Aspenstar. The leader herself was going to mentor him. He decided to get to the bottom of the tree that Aspenstar was on and wait for the meeting to end so he could meet his mentor.
