High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]

The majority of the cats didn't seem to unhappy. Thunderpaw seemed to be happy with Cherryblossom, Bluepaw and Aspenpaw the same way. Aspenstar was... quite pleased with... the majority of reactions.But after watching Slatepaw run out, wondering why the she-cat was so upset- Wait. Did she name her Thunderpaw?! Oh stars.... She had Thunderkit stuck in her mind when saying that. A soft groan escaped her, and she screwed her eyes shut. This meeting was a disaster. Looking down at Cinderpaw and Bumblepaw, who didn't seem happy about their assigned mentor, she frowned a little at them. Tawnybird, as unpopular he seemed to be at the moment, was a good warrior (when he wasn't running away from battle), and if the young cats were willing, they could learn to toss aside their difference with Tawnybird, and put their rivalry on hold.

But even though she wanted strongly to let go of the Tawnybird/Sweetsong conflict, perhaps she had to straighten things out, because multiple cats were talking to her at once about the matter.

"Before we continue, I'd like to say that I am not allowing Tawnybird to go without punishment. His actions were cowardly and dishonorable, he made a grave mistake. But with Sweetsong attacking him, he made the situation worse, and therefore diverted my attention from reprimanding Tawnybird to dealing with a cat who took off his Clanmate's nose. Both of the toms are traitors in the same sense, they both caused their Clanmates harm, whether they meant to or not, that is what happened." She hoped that was all that need to be said, but realistically speaking... there would certainly be opinionated cats who had more to say on the matter.

Sighing softly as Dogbark had to step in and stop Yarrowshade (who she would have to speak with later about her actions) and Cornpaw, who was trying to possess Tawnybirds detached nose, Aspenstar wanted to yowl her frustration to the sky. But that wouldn't fare well with anyone, she would have to wait until she was done with this chaotic mess of a meeting. Looking at a few of the apprentices, she noticed how impatient Fernpaw seemed to be. Her cousin was quite headstrong, she would have to give him a mentor that would put him in his place.

"In the wake of the chaos, death and disappearances have left multiple apprentices mentorless. This will not continue to be an issue.
Fernpaw ( @Singing Jay ), your new mentor will be Bumblestreak ( @seeingstars ), Tawnypaw ( @Berd ), your new mentor will be Snakewhisker ( @vcrdant ), Flowerpaw ( @WINGSOFFIRE ), your new mentor will be Snowraven ( @Stonekit ), Cornpaw ( @finnzel ), your new mentor will be Sleepycloud ( @Kyrieknight )."

Hopefully in the wake of these new announcements, there would be less chaos. But even if there was, Aspenstar was quite sick of it by now. Looking around at the gathered cats, a small puff of air escaped her as she exhaled a long breath. Maybe it would get easier with time, but it didn't seem so.

But first, before she could go back int her den and become overridden with anxiety, stress and worries, she should address the high number of cats that protested. Or... at least a few. Yarrowshade was one of her biggest issues, and she turned an icy glare on the she-cat. "Yarrowshade, there is nothing even remotely amusing about this, please keep your jaws shut. You're bring more issues upon yourself, and your immaturity and eagerness for rebellion is one of the reasons you do not have an apprentice right now. So unless you'd like your apprentice name back for the next four moons, I suggest you stop trying to stir up trouble, before karma bites you in the ass."

Irritation threatened to overwhelm her, and the honey colored molly refused to have to deal with any more drama right now. She had nothing more to say, and her complaint tolerance was low.

"Clan dismissed."

Sleepycloud blinked sleepily, pale blue eyes blurry yet clouded with both sleep and surprise. He was a mentor? Really? Him, who couldn't focus for too long or he'd fall asleep, and wasn't the best when it came to reading the room, was a mentor? Huh, weird. Nonetheless, the mottled tom stepped forward, looking for his new apprentice. Cornpaw, wasn't it?

Wow! aspenstar rules! She’s so brave and cool she’s totally got my respect and loyalty! The black kit sat back down into the shaded spot she seamed to have claimed as her own. She enjoyed dark places it was easy for her to hide within them and conceal her presence. Her green eyes gleamed in the darkness as she trailed aspenstar with her eyes isnt she my aunt… she wanted to get to know Aspen star better but she was quite shy around her. But she wasn’t afraid of anything! She would run anyone into the ground who doubted her clan leader and all of those who hated them.slowly she got to her paws and trailed after aspenstar keeping close to the shadows then she dropped into what seamed to be a sloppy hunters crouch and sprang and somehow landed on the tip of her tail. She stared up at aspenstar scared out of her mind what if she yells at me! Oh starclan what have I done i let my inner kit take over…

He stared up at his leader with a cool almost lost gaze, sure the clan was having some trouble but shouldn’t it be easy to forgive and move on… the flame colored kit sighed and got to his paws he spotted hollykit padding after aspenstar and a small smile appeared on his face “at least some things never change… he mumbled before his eyes landed upon brightkit and before he even noticed his paws where carrying him over to the molly. Sitting next to her he stared into the distance wishing that this awful feeling would go away but no matter what she did nothing helped.

Bumblestreak heard his name and blinked, he hadn't expected to hear his name called this meeting but none the less the chubby ginger tom slowly rose to his paws, looking around for his newly assigned apprentice. Fernpaw... Fernpaw..... He furrowed his brows trying to remember what he even looked like, he felt a little bad not being able to.

What...? He must have misheard Aspenstar... It couldn't be...
Fernpaw stared at his leader and cousin in disbelief until a sudden
rage came over him. How couldn't Aspenstar have taken him as
her apprentice, they were kin!!!

Fernpaw twisted around and rushed over to Bumblestreak,
the one Aspenstar had shoved him on to. "Battle training!"
he demanded, not bothering to touch noses with his new
mentor or even introducing himself. He would show Aspenstar,
he'd show them all.

Bumblestreak was taken aback by the apprentice's... well... enthusiasm for lack of a better word. The ginger tabby tom flashed a smile "I'm Bumblestreak, It's nice to meet you too Fernpaw" He said with a chuckle bowing his head respectfully to Fernpaw "maaaybe you should slow your roll there kiddo" The laid-back tom said casually, quirking a brow "Enjoy your apprenticeship while ya still can"

Rootspark looked over at Fernpaw and Bumblestreak. After watching Fernpaw's demand, he couldn't suppress a mrrow of laughter at the apprentice's fiery temper. He just hoped that he wouldn't have an apprentice like that. He wasn't sure he was ready for that. He looked at Bumblespark, as if to say, 'You got your paws full with that one.'

Fernpaw's fur twitched in annoyance as his new mentor spoke.
Couldn't Aspenstar at least given him a decently fierce mentor,
not a cat who had "Bumble" in their name. Fernpaw sighed quietly
to himself, he was gonna work by himself a lot...
He heard another warrior laugh and his fur started
to prickle again.

"Yeah, yeah, when do we begin"

he wasn’t sure how long he’d been running; he wasn’t even sure where he was. all he knew was that he wasn’t safe. so, he ran. he pelted through the forest, a blurred mixture of browns and oranges and various other dark colors, until at last his little legs had given out and left him with no other course of action than to wail and cry like a kit.

“mama!!” he caterwauled, tears in stinging hotly in his bicolored eyes as he fell to the forest floor. “m.. mama!” the smells of the forest were unfamiliar, filled with perhaps a millennia’s worth of strange scents that only served to terrify him further. struggling to push himself back to a standing position, however somehow managing to remain on his exhausted and wholly sore paws. his every muscle screamed in protest, but he fought the pain. he had to make it. he didn’t know where he had to make it to, but he had to make it. he had to be safe. else his mother gave her life for nothing.

panting and heaving, he paused, looking around for any cat that could help him.
