The tom glared at Duskfeather and dipped his head and padded to his nest. Scarface settled himself in his nest and tried to sleep but he had Flamepelt on his mind oh the beautiful she-cat he loved. No! Scarface shook his head to clear his mind but he also admired Duskfeather. The tabby tom shifted in his nest and fell asleep. @hxneysuckle

Irispaw flinched back at the tom's words. She felt growl rise in her throat, but flattened it down promptly. Slow and steady...
"I didn't...I didn't mean to be rude! I just didn't hear you right. There are lots of cats like that around, it's easy to generalize." She countered, trying to keep her voice even. She didn't like to be rude- and when she was, it meant they deserved it. She grabbed a cobweb, and gestured towards his injuries.
"Is it okay if I-" Wait, me, a mean medicine cat?! She gave a hard stare to the tom, trying not to glare.
"I was just trying to make a point! I- argh..." She hissed quietly. Life was unfair. It felt like it was especially unfair to her. It was always Why'd you do that, Irispaw? What's with you, Irispaw? Why do you have a twisted paw, Irispaw? Why- She glowered at an empty space as she began to chew up the dandelion she had been given. She attempted to stick it on Bluegorse's wound, followed by some cobwebs.

Given the circumstances, Bluegorse felt justified in calling Irispaw out on her behavior. Not only had his wound been jabbed.. seemingly only to cause him pain, but she had gone into a lecture of assumptions and accusations out of the blue! It took a lot to lie his fur flat, gritting his teeth with a short hiss as she stuck the plant pulp onto his wounds and bound it with cobwebs.

Yeah, it didn't feel great at first. And Bluegorse's stomach twisted with concern - flicking his gaze around the clearing to look for the other cats from his patrol. Linnetwing.. where was Lionwhisker? Mintfrost? Did they make it back okay? His heart was in his throat until he saw Lionwhisker's golden pelt by Linnetwing and Mintfrost's tail tip vanish into the warrior's den. Okay, good, they made it back.. and at least Mintfrost was fine.

Bluegorse sunk his head down as he looked at Irispaw tiredly. "I just wanted to make sure the others were fine first, I know we don't have much left, and.." what more could he say? He wasn't expecting the backlash from Irispaw over his request for her to take care of their Clan-mates first. But, he did feel bad for outright calling her mean.. Bluegorse just hadn't been expecting her in-his-face reaction, how unnecessarily harsh she'd been to him. .. I'm sorry, for what I said. I don't think you're actually mean, just, very rough with those tiny paws of yours!"

Irispaw shuffled over to treat the rest of his wounds, ears flattening at the blood. She hated it. She let her thoughts wander. Though Bluegorse was right- she was rude- he didn't need to hiss back. But then again, 'miss crisis Iris' was always causing trouble, wasn't she? She sighed, wishing she could sink back into her nest and go back to sleep.

Her ears perked up in interest at the tom's response. She felt abashed by his words- how hadn't she picked up on his kindness to his clanmates? How had she been so harsh, so rude? She shook her head, working up the courage to apologize.
"I'm always a bit crabby...it's not your fault. I should have noticed your hesitancy." She mewed quietly, finishing up with her work. She smiled, gazing at the warrior.
"I guess I have a thing or two to learn about respecting my elders, don't I?" She purred, her pelt growing hot self-consciously.

ThunderClan had changed a lot lately.
Expanded borders, a new deputy, healing from the fire, and more. Despite all of the changes that had been made, Duskfeather felt... bored. Every day was the same- do patrols, send out patrols, yell at lazy cats, eat, sleep, repeat. A plan had been forming in her head for a quite a while as she watched kits play by the nursery, but she needed Flintstar's help- and approval- to do so. Once the time was right, Duskfeather hopped up to her paws, making her way to the leader's den.
She stood outside the entrance, not wishing to be rude and barge in. Her gaze traveled over the camp, the idea settling at the front of her mind before she turned back to the den. Taking a deep breath, Duskfeather said, "Flintstar, may I enter? I wish to speak of an idea I've had." As she waited for a response, the deputy allowed her mind to wander, forcing herself not to speak her thoughts aloud as she planned what she was to say. She had to be persuasive if she wanted this to work!

Duskfeather was sat in the center of the clearing, her tail tip twitching. Where was the other battle group? Had they returned, or even gone out to train? She huffed. If they were back, they were to report to her! But if they hadn't followed her orders... argh! She was sick of such laziness in the Clan!
The she-cat looked around, her hazel eyes narrowed as she called out for the members. "Shadowsight! Tigerbranch! Morningsun! Where are you? You were to report back to me immediately after finishing your battle party training. Did you even complete it?" Duskfeather shouted, making her voice loud enough for them to hear- if they were even in camp.

After calling out for the others, she decided to send out a new battle group. Only one this time, as apparently it wasn't possible for the others to finish. Maybe she could entrust these next warriors to return without her watching over them like a hawk...
"Jaggedhawk, take Icedust and Hollowedaster out to do some battle training. Once you are all finished, you must report back to me. It isn't my job to track all of you down!" She nodded to the warriors, her claws sinking into the ground below her. Duskfeather then fell silent, returning to her task of watching for patrols to return. Punishments were already set in her mind for if they decided to be lazy and not do their assigned jobs!

The patrol leader hurried into the clearing, his ears pulled back tight in worry. Duskfeather was busy calling out the next patrols - he hung back until she was done, then sidled up next to her. His voice was urgent when he spoke. "Duskfeather," he started, "we found something while on patrol. A squirrel carcass, untouched by predators or even crows. It smelled odd. I buried it, and asked Duskpaw and Foxbound to get the prey we caught while I ran ahead to get this to you
I didn't want to bring it back to camp in case it contained an illness or something."

Honeypaw raced through the camp and skidded to a halt in front of Duskfeather " Duskfeather have you seen Scarface he prommsed we would hunt!" Honeypaw purred as she sat with her tail wrapped neatly around her paws.

Duskfeather turned her head as the former deputy approached. Thank StarClan, somecat knows how to complete a patrol! The Torbie narrowed her eyes at the report. A squirrel carcass? Her nose wrinkled, mind racing to think of an explanation for the finding. Pushing it to the side, she flicked her tail and nodded. "Thank you for reporting, Buckbranch. I will see to it that the area is carefully searched and Flintstar is notified," she paused for a moment, glancing down at his paws before continuing. "You say you buried it? I would like you to find a water source- wash your paws and any other part that touched the carcass. I don't want any illnesses spreading, if it had any. Did Foxbound or Duskpaw touch it as well? If so, tell them to do the same." Duskfeather nodded to Buckbranch, thankful that he reported such news to her. She offered him a kind smile. "You are dismissed."
As an apprentice came to her, she tilted her head to the side. "Last time I saw him, he went to the warrior's den. You may wish to check there." The deputy gave a smile to the young cat, pointing with her tail toward's the warrior's den.
