Well that... certainly wasn’t what Kestrelstar had been expecting. But as much of a “grump” as he was viewed as, even he wouldn’t pull away from a Clanmate in this much duress. Instead, he let the sobbing warrior lean into him, ignoring the tears that dampened his fur. ”Petuniaflame was an excellent warrior. She server her Clan well in the short time she was a warrior.” And as much as the leader disliked how Blizzardsky approached things at times, he didn’t want him dead.
Albatrossflame... ThunderClan... To him, they were one in the same. To him, they were interchangeable. Eveningstar was their leader, he had control of ThunderClan. This was his fault. Anger once again rose in his chest, swelling and heating like the inferno it was. ”When the time comes,” he continued, pulling back to look at the distraught warrior, ”you will get your revenge. I will not stand by as ThunderClan and it’s deranged warriors slay RiverClan. They will pay. We will defend Petuniaflame’s memory, whatever the cost.”
Kestrelstar felt like he was standing on the edge of war; a black, dark hole that he couldn’t help but want to leap into. Allow it to engulf him. His dream with Blossomclaw resonated in his head; the time for retribution was now.

Blizzardsky gave a sniffle and forced himself to keep it together,” Good. While I oppose kitnapping, I won’t object if you want to kitnap all of Thunderclan’s kits.” he meowed since he sorta believed Kestrelstar had some weird obsession with kitnapping, after thinking for a couple beats he added,” As long as you take care of the kits that you kitnap, they didn’t do anything wrong.” he glanced at Kestrelstar hoping he’d appreciate his permission to kitnap all of Thunderclan’s kits, which was obviously Kestrelstar’s plan in his mind.

"Kestrelstar? I have a question?" he said uneasily. "Actually, I have two." he said. "One, I get Fawnsqueak, and why we are so mad over her, but Lionstorm? He went into the camp and started slaughtering cats, right? Why are we so mad Thunderclan did the most expected thing and killed him in retribution for the 6 or 7 cats he left dead?" he said in a tone that meant this was not meant as a challenge. "Second, what do you not like about me? you seem weirded out all the time and I think you really have no prior info." he said, this time sounding a teeny tiny bit hurt.

Okay, now this was going a bit too far. Kestrelstar fought back a roll of his yellow eyes at the mention of kitnapping (all stemming from one interaction with a particular WindClan kit). "Blizzardsky, I am not going to be stealing any kits, from anywhere, so drop that," he replied, voice a bit edged with annoyance. He tried to keep most of it out since he knew the tom was grieving, but it was getting on his nerves.
Taking a step away from the warrior, the leader gave a nod. "I've got a few things to do, and then I'll be calling a meeting soon. Go grab something off the prey pile and take a breather," he recommended, nodding towards the entrance of his den.

What day was it? Night and day seemed to be the same to Kestrelstar, as he had been in his den for quite some time. It was all the same here, the dim lighting never changed, and the only company he had were a few loose mossballs that had gathered in the corner of the rather desolate den. The leader, who was staring intensely at a wall, was muttering to himself. Claws scrapped into the ground as yellow eyes worked their way across the way.
Five, six... no, eight, right? There were eight... or maybe nine.
Anger flared in his chest as he realized he'd have to start over, one claw scoring deep into the soil of his den. As frustrating as it was, Kestrelstar had to get this right. And just as he was starting over... a voice. A voice at his den.
"What do you want?" came the sharp reply, yellow eyes flared in anger as they locked onto the approaching figure of Quietclaw. They then grew at the mention - and misgender - of Fawnsqueak and Lionstorm.
Firehawk.
Fawnsqueak.
Lionstorm.
Peonypaw.
Petuniaflame.
Red flashed along the edges of his vision as he felt the earth underneath him tilt almost, getting to his paws in a staggering fashion. "How dare you," he spat, fangs bared. It was over his head at this point that this was a Clanmate, someone who was under his leadership. But the words? The vile poison that was spewing from their mouth? "How dare you side with those fox-hearted murders. They killed Fawnsqueak, and in turn Lionstorm when he went to hold them responsibile. And since then," he continued, advancing towards Quietclaw, "they are responsible for the death of my apprentice, Peonypaw. One of our longest standing elders Firehawk. Attacking your deputy, Splashleap. Killing Petuniaflame!"
At this point, Kestrelstar's voice was raised. It was full of anger and malice and hatred. "How dare you call yourself a RiverClan warrior yet come into my den and not only slander the name of one of the greatest RiverClan leaders, but ask my opinion of you?." Incredulous, Kestrelstar stared in bewilderment at the warrior. "I have far better things to do than to get to know a warrior in my Clan who is sympathetic with ThunderClan."

"Ugh, you aren't listening to what I am saying. you are hearing what I said as sympathizing with thunderclan. I am not a traitor, nor a enemy sympathizer. What I mean is, I do not understand why Lionstorm's death is such a surprise! someone killed Fawnsqueak and he went to hold them responsible, and I agree that the one cat who killed Fawnsqueak should have paid, but the rest of them did nothing to him or Fawnsqueak, and he just randomly unleashed his anger on 5 other cats. I guess the question is, What was he holding the other 5 responsible for when he killed not just the one warrior, but a kit, and apprentice, and leader, and former med cat, and a Queen? I do not sympathize with thunderclan, but I misunderstand how Lions death is a shock. I personally think this rage is not just about me, It's about every thing that happened. I will go over to a corner and sit down until you have calmed yourself." he said with absolutely no panic in his voice. he was not sure he had done anything wrong.

Re: RiverClan Leader's Den
None of what Quietclaw was saying was processing. Not that it would matter if it did. Kestrelstar narrowed his eyes, the fur on his neck beginning to rise. "By saying you don't understand the death of RiverClan's most important leader, regardless of whatever caused it, means that you have no loyalty to RiverClan," the leader hissed, coming to stand almost a whiskers length away from the warrior. He didn't smell of fear, which didn't register to the gray tabby. "You will get out of my den, and preferably out of RiverClan. I do not want you in my sight. I do not want to hear you speak."
The red that was edging in around his gaze, closer and closer, until Kestrelstar wasn't sure he would be able to contain it. "Get. Out. Of. My Den. Now." As if to back up his claim, Kestrelstar lifted an unsheathed claw, yellow eyes boring into Quietclaw's own. He was close to swiping at the warrior - Clanmate or not.

"No! You are going to calm down, and listen for even a second. Then, I will get out of your sight. Also, I understand the death and who caused it, but I don't understand why you might think: "Oh Starclan! I can't believe he got killed by Thunderclan cats after he killed six of them!" It just seems like ignorance and denial. chase me out, out of camp if you want, but deep down, you are thinking of this and some part of you is thinking the same thing I am. I AM loyal to River clan by the way, just confused." he said coolly, fully prepared for what might come next.

Re: RiverClan Leader's Den
The red was encapsulating now, all consuming and a low growl rumbled in Kestrelstar's throat. This cat was a threat. A threat in his den. "You," he snarled, voice as dark as his murky yellow gaze, "will not tell your leader what to do. Get out." For good measure, Kestrelstar aimed a swipe at Quietclaw's face, claws unsheathed. He wanted this warrior out. He wanted them out of his den, out of camp, out of RiverClan. Tail lashing behind him, anger swarming his chest as he glared at Quietclaw.
"You are no warrior of RiverClan."
[ so just a heads up - I'd recommend Quietclaw leaving! if you read in my signature, his interactions are erratic and unstable, and he will injure Quietclaw if he doesn't leave ^^ ]

"I know how loyal you are to this clan, and it is blinding you now. I will leave until sanity is restored. think about what I am saying, as you know it is true. you know that a war will leave many dead." he said in a tired voice He then said what he thought might awaken him: "How does that help Riverclan thrive?" This was all said with no fear or hesitance. "Goodbye, and Good day to you." he said as he left the den.
