Snowsnap raised an eyebrow at Thunderhowl's weak stab at a joke, though he did smile. "It sure looks that way, darling," he answered, amused. "But it burns like hellfire." He obeyed gratefully, sitting down with a thump. A thin cloud of dust puffed around his paws. The cobwebs stung as they touched the scratches, but he watched through half-lidded eyes as the webs were patted firmly on. "Do you think they'll scar, darling? A scar may seem neat, but some cats find it disturbing. Personally I never found them appealing. It ruins a cat's image."

Smiling and walking away to get into a battle stance. " come at me fernpaw! Give me your best attack. Besides, we all know a windclan weakling like you isn't gonna be able to do anything . " she growled . Her was voice as if a windclanner was really there .winking at fernpaw [ @sugarcubes ] to give her the hint that it's just an act and more of motivation . Besides she did hate windclan...they were useless ...it was like their territory was just turning into an abandoned field! Pathetic rats they were.

Bearpaw gave a weak smile when Thunderhowl said he did good, then began lapping some of the blood and dirt off of Dawnstripe's wounds. It unnerved him a bit that he was getting used to the taste of iron. Once the bleeding seemed to subdue, he dipped his head in dismissal to the large she-cat.

Turning toward his mentor, he gave a few clueless blinks at the mentioning of Marigold. The heck was that? "Um, I'm not sure what marigold is..." Bearpaw mewed, flicking an ear at Snowsnap's comments as he watched Thunderhowl keep the pressure on the patient's chest wound. He was pretty sure he didn't want to hear the word 'darling' ever again...

When Snowsnap mentioned scars, the scratch across his face started to sting as he remembered it. Wincing, he placed a paw over it momentarily, not wanting Snowsnap to see. The last thing he needed was more judgment. His sister never managed to break through his thick pelt before, so this was a new low for him...but he felt more shame than pain.

Yeah, Thunderhowl definitely liked Whitepelt more when he didn't talk. The repetitive use of darling was instantly annoying, and he flicked his ears. "If it gets you to stop sayin' 'darlin', I sure hope they scar."

Thunderhowl's attention swapped to Bearpaw. Ah, he had almost forgotten how limited the apprentice's knowledge was. Thanks, Raccoonhead. "Stay here a moment and hold the webs in place. If it gets too soaked, you can replace them. Just don't tear the formin' scab." After giving Bearpaw a chance to take over, Thunderhowl departed briefly to head into the medicine cat den. This would be faster than trying to tell Bearpaw what to look for.

Finally getting a moment to himself, Bearpaw made his way over to Icestar's den. "Ma'am? Are you in here?" He poked his head inside. "I was wondering if you could assign me an escort to the Starcave...I want to be made official." What he really wanted was to grow more on Icestar's good side, so he thought asking for permission rather than just heading off himself would be the smartest choice. Sucking up to her so far has gone way easier than he thought. Hopefully he could keep this up!

Ugh, what the hell was this?

Herbs scattered throughout the floor, an apprentice with a clearly lame leg, a crying RiverClan cat. No wonder Bearpaw had been crying-- this place was a mess.

"You." This was to the RiverClan apprentice. "Get out of here and go home. You're lucky someone else hasn't seen you yet, they'd bring you to Icestar and skin your pelt. I might if you don't haul ass out of here."

The other apprentice, he'd worry about later. For now, he swept the pile of herbs together with his tail to quickly collect and reorganize them. He'd need marigold if there was any left, maybe some horsetail.. Thunderhowl really needed to talk to that boy about keeping his herbs supplies in shape.

Once he found what he was looking for-- some shriveled stalks of marigold, he headed out of the den without another glance at the RiverClan apprentice.

He laughed, a light tinkling sound that floated through the chilly air, as he pressed a paw to the cobwebs on his chest. "What, would you prefer I called you 'kitten'?" he teased. "Because either one works for me." His eyes sparkled as he watched the older tom hurry off to the medicine den before turning his attention to Bearpaw. "Is he always a grump?" he asked the apprentice.

Nodding, Bearpaw took over, placing pressure on the cobswebs against Snowsnap's chest. He rolled his eyes at the nickname comments, praying to never be called kitten or darling. Jeez, this cat was annoying. "Yes he is." Bearpaw replied, "Let me know if I'm pressing too hard." He added, trying to avoid eye contact with the tom.

"What? Oh, yes." Icestar had been lost in thought, and was admittedly annoyed at the disturbance. She forced herself not to snap at Bearpaw, though, once she realized it was him. She still did not fully trust this RiverClanner, but seeing him working in the clearing had helped her spirits. And it seemed that Thundershout or whatever looked to be the real deal. Hopefully things could stay good for a while.

"Take my apprentice, Peachpaw, with you. He's probably in the apprentice's den."

Score! And she didn't even scowl or question him. That's a new record!

Giving a bright smile, Bearpaw dipped his head. "Thank you, ma'am, I'll try to be back by morning. Thunderhowl will take care of things while I'm gone." On his way out, he wondered what this "Peachpaw" was like...if they were the strong-silent-type he might lose his marbles the whole journey. Welp. Here goes nothing!
