Cicadapaw shot to attention at Risingstorm's question. Had he been that far behind? Burnedbark had left faster than he had realized. At least he was present, though, Alpinemoon and Beetlepaw hadn't even gotten here yet. "I'm sorry," he meowed. "I thought I was right behind him, but it must have taken longer for me to collect my mouse than I thought."

A disgrace, is what he was. Couldn’t catch even a mouse, and her he was late for his own patrol. A first. Didn’t make it any less embarrassing. Any less revolting.

His maw was taught, a thin line. Shoulders somewhat squared, although they attempted to scrunch into themselves. An attempt to hide that he refused to play into. His ears were angled forwards, tail twitched behind him. Doing his best to keep eye contact with Risingstorm.

“I failed to catch a single piece of prey while out on patrol…I felt as though I shouldn’t have been allowed to come back until I tired again…” a pause as his words tightened. Getting stuck in his throat. Admitting his failures aloud.

At that his facade fell, and his shoulders scrunched a little more. “I. I still couldn’t catch anything.” his voice didn’t change volume. He was a disgrace, but at least he knew it somewhat.
