The senior warrior offered another small smile. Glowpaw seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but here, but maybe Aspensky could fix that. Maybe not. Only time will tell. If he couldn't correct his attitude, it would only be a matter of time beforeLionstar kicked the tom to the curb. Aspensky could only hope it wouldn't come to that.

"So, Glowpaw, how have you been doing lately? Anything on your mind?" he inquired, with a slight tilt of his head. Aspensky's first theory was that Glowpaw's attitude may stem from some recent troubles. If not, he'd just move on to the next line of questioning.

Rainsplash looked at Lionstar, then Woollyflame, kinda just nodding.

"I'd be delighted."

He meowed, padding up to the cats with Woollyflame. He seemed a bit better over time as he had slowly softened on his grief for his missing apprentice. His smile had returned, but you could still see sadness in his eyes as he missed seeing her.

Lionstar wasn't surprised by how poorly Duskstar treated her, nor was he surprised by what seemed to be an overall lack of competence from the other "leader." Lionstar had his fair share of public callouts but those, he believed, were justified-- apprentices who genuinely sat on their rears and did nothing to try to train. He could give them the most active mentors in the world and they still refused to do anything for themselves and the Clan. He was always sympathetic toward the ones who tried but were met with unnecessary challenges along the way - like poor mentors. It was never their fault they were given a short hand, and that was why he tried to encourage communication and give them opportunities to learn outside of just their assigned trainer.

A lack of effort on Plumpaw's end didn't appear to be the case, and he was amazed she had lasted so long in a Clan that treated her so badly. He considered himself a good judge of character-- even though he was deceived once before by Duskstar before her ascension to leadership. Who would have guessed the strong deputy of ThunderClan would become such a weak leader?

"It sounds like ThunderClan has done you a disservice." Maybe not the Clan as a whole - he was sure her old mentor did his best with her, but Duskstar had dug the Clan into such a deep pit it'd be hard to rise out of. Like WindClan, only a change of leadership would give them a chance of pulling through.. and as far as he knew, that was unlikely with ThunderClan's enabling. "Rest assured, Plumpaw, we'll take good care of you here.

"I don't know the extent of training you have, but I have every intention of getting you the warrior name you deserve. Gentlethunder [ @Starfall]!" He gave the gray caliby a chance to approach, decisively opting to avoid his nickname for Plumpaw's sake alone. It'd do her no good to learn names incorrectly, as amusing as that'd be.

"You will be overseeing the remainder of Plumpaw's training. Since she's from ThunderClan, she'll need at least one lesson in both fishing and swimming but the rest of it will be up to both of you." Likely, he figured she'd be tested on her current skills and Gentlethunder would go from there. An experienced apprentice, it shouldn't be long before she needed a final assessment.

"And Plumpaw.. if you need anything at all, just ask." From training to just.. help, it didn't really matter. He knew being abandoned by her Clan may have soured her impression of others and he wanted this to be a good experience for her.

Given the circumstances as well, he wasn't willing to leave her hanging like this - immediately thrown into training upon the first second of joining. "Spiderpaw [ @hope], a moment please." He called to the dark apprentice as she came within his sights, ears twitching to beckon her over.

"Plumpaw, Spiderpaw will get you settled into camp and show you around. I know transitioning Clans can be hard, so hopefully she'll make things easier for you to adapt to." And with any luck, she'd be introduced to more cats along the way. "I'll announce your joining at the next Clan meeting, but there's no reason to put your life on a standstill until then."

The tom swiveled his head, looking to see who called his name. Surprise flickered on his features when he realized it was Bumblebutt. 'No nickname, must be serious.' the Calliby thought to himself. Dropping the fish he made his way over to Lionstar. A stern expression plastered on his face.

As the Leader spoke up of having an Apprentice, he looked down to see an unfamiliar face. All seriousness gone he gave the smaller feline a smile. "Geeze. Scare me like that, yea I got her." he laughed. "Don't worry I won't toss ya in this time. Come find me when you've settled down and when you're ready to begin your training." he said. With that said he turned to look at the golden Tabby, "Call my actual name, thought something was on fire." he snickered.

The she-cat stares at RiverClan's leader quietly for a few long heartbeats, as though trying to determine whether or not to put her trust in his words. Maybe he'd understand that she still didn't know him, so she couldn't just gladly bow her head and move on with her new life here. After another moment, she glances down and nods politely. "Thank you," the apprentice mews.
As another warrior is called over, her attention shifts from her paws to Gentlethunder. Her first thought was that this was a pretty cat, even his name was pretty. When he directs his next statement towards Plumpaw, she blinks in surprise before nodding along with a quiet "yes." Suddenly, a lot more than just a leader's interview was going on, and the apprentice was quickly feeling in over her head. Thankfully there was another name mentioned- Spiderpaw? Who would be her buddy for a short duration. Never had one of those before, the she-cat thinks wryly to herself with a snort as she looks around the clearing for this cat that was supposed to be showing up. "Thank you," Plumpaw says again to Lionstar, looking from him to the warrior who had also come up to them. "I'll do my best to earn your respect."

Ivorypaw was glad to keep her mentor and gave a nod to the two warriors. She was excited to learn to swim, frankly she couldn’t wait to learn to swim. Once she could swim she’d just need to work on hunting and then she could take her final and be a warrior of Riverclan. At least her first mentor was back.

Halfkit squeaked happily and gave chase as Eelkit dashed away. She immediately wished she had longer legs because Eelkit, being older, had an advantage and was outrunning her.
Once she saw he was heading to one of the dens her mama said she wasn't allowed in, she skidded to a stop, her baby paw pads and toe beans scraping a bit.
She cried a bit at the pain and lifted a little paw upward to inspect it.
It was barely even bleeding!

Chase chase chase and run! Eelkit was prepared and he was also prepared to crash into that big den but before he could do anything Halfkit started crying and he ran back to her. "Hey! You okay? Mama said pain is bad. Do you need to sit down? to like... have a nap? Mama said napping heals wounds! Especially napping with her. Have you tried to nap with your ma while in pain? I haven't cause I've never gotten injured." But he just sat and stared at her, the black tabby tom intrigued and his eyes glinting somewhat. "Where do you wanna go now? Can you go run now? I'm fine with any option."
