Barkfuzz trotted alongside Melonpaw. "This'll be fun, huh?" he asked the apprentice eagerly, putting energy into each step. "Just you and me versus that silly burdock root! RiverClan for the win, right?" He laughed at his own joke.

The voices of Barkfuzz and Melonpaw slowly faded away as the three cats parted ways. The last thing the tom heard was Barkfuzz joking around with the apprentice before Bumblestep's loud pawsteps drowned out their voices entirely. Hopefully they find a large stash of burdock, poor Snakeheart needs as much as we can carry.

Deciding to start looking for the dreaded deathberries, he opened his mouth to try and find any scent of berries. What do deathberries even smell like? He wondered to himself, prodding a nearby bush with his white paw. I can't imagine they smell like actual death.

After a few more minutes of unsuccessful searching, he certain bush caught his eye. Nestled underneath a frail looking oak tree was a bush dotted with red. The red dots almost reminded him of the kit who had come down with a rash. That has to be it. Ripping off a large leaf from a nearby bush to wrap them in, the tom prepared himself to begin picking the deadly berries.

Blizzardsky gave a light laugh and then threw some snow back, he was having fun honestly, he then kinda shoved his huge white pelt in the snow and buried himself a bit he probably blended in before popping up before shaking the snow out of his fur sending it flying everywhere.

Heronflight let out a laugh when snow went flying off his pelt. A few pieces landed on her fur. The molly got into a hunters crouch in the snow and stalked towards him before trying to pounce on him in a playful way. Hey that would be a good move for a cat with white fur. It would sure work on the enemy.

Melonpaw gave him a small doubtful look, head tilted to the side slightly that made his ears droop in a depressive way. He didn't dismiss the last statement, of course not, but his mind was too busy deciding to eat away at itself with anixety. "L-l-lets just get th-this over and done with," he sniffed.

Melonpaw hesitated, ears flattening back against the top of his head. He bit his lip with a quiet whine. "I... I don't know. Are we not good enough f-f-for the berries? What are the berries for? What if Bumblestep swallows one?!" His heart was racing, words shakey as he meowed them out.

Here they were again; off to go training.

The tabby led the way to Cattail Pond, every once in a while looking behind to check if Baypaw was still there. They said they wanted to go fishing when they were at the Streamstone, so that's what they were doing here!... If it wasn't obvious. As they arrived, Duckbounce giggled. She recalled the time she'd caught a leaf instead of a fish. You couldn't blame her, though. The shadow of the leaf looked just like a fish! It was even her first time fishing back then.

Wasting no time, the warrior padded up to the water. "Alright, let's get right to it! First, get into a relaxed yet attentive position right at the waterline." The molly tapped the water with her paw a few times while waiting for Baypaw.

"Hey, it's okay," Barkfuzz said gently, laying his tail on the apprentice's back as a gesture of friendship. "Snakeheart needs more burdock root then the berries, so since Snakeheart said you shouldn't go near them - for your own safety - Bumblestep took over the risk because he's patrol leader. You're good enough for anything you set your mind to, this is just the way things have to be right now."

Melonpaw bit on his tongue, simply giving Barkfuzz a shakey nod. He wasn't one to answer back, not when his emotions were clawing at his insides. He ducked his head down and shuffled away to collect the plants assigned to them.

Barkfuzz's ears flattened at the other tom's response, and he simply began sniffing along the ground for the needed herb.
