It had been a little while since they were last placed on a patrol. But Sassafrasfire didn't exactly feel glad about being noted as one of the hunting parties. They rise from their position near the fresh-kill pile and begin to look for Beanpaw. Ever since reassignment, neither the mentor nor the apprentice had sought the other out. Maybe that's just how grief worked. The naturally placid feline wouldn't know.
"Beanpaw," they murmur, poking their nose into the apprentice's den to continue the search. "A hunting patrol."
Stepping out, they pad towards the camp's entry and exit point, tail sweeping the ground as they walk. How long had it been now that Petuniapaw vanished? They could still imagine her bouncy, cheery approach. It was weird to them- Nothing had stuck in their mind like this before. Nothing kept them awake in thought at night beside Ternsky, nothing had ever kept them as alert and ready to welcome their little sunny friend home.
A hunting patrol. Giving themselves a thorough shakedown, Sassafrasfire reminds them-self that this was a hunting patrol.

The gentle white she-cat known as Spiritedleap was eager to start thier border patrol, her chest rolling in a purr at the idea that she had been trusted to lead a patrol. That was a great privilege for her to be able to serve her clan in such a way. As her large jade eyes scanned the clearing, she hoped to catch sight of her apprentice and the warrior, Goldensnow, who would be accompanying them. She hadn't really gotten to know Goldensnow so she was excited for the opportunity to work with them.

"Alrighty then!" Duckbounce said happily. As the molly went into her battle position, she wondered what Lizardpaw would do. She seemed to be very good at this, so the warrior was excited.

Bristlekit had grabbed the fish just as his sister replied. He only rolled his eyes before dropping the small trout outside the pile. "I don't, if I play with you, you will loose and get beaten easily. Now that's no fun is it." He said gruffly, getting ready to dive into his food.
