Adderheart watched as Riversplash padded back with a white squirrel. The prey caught her off-guard; curiously, the cat narrowed her eyes and looked it over a little more.
“I’ve never seen one like this!” she exclaimed, tail flicking. It certainly was a curious case. “Do you think it might be sick or something? Do they change color when they’re sick?”
StarClan forbid if the prey was starting to get sick. That would cause one too many problems with feeding all the cats of the clan during leaf-bare; it was hard enough to find prey.
Riversplash sniffed the squirrel carefully. “It smells normal,” he meowed,”it’s eyes are also fine. Maybe white squirrels are just rare.”

ADDERHEART
”Huh, that’s kinda cool! They’re like us!” she mewed, clearly pleased with Riversplash’s answer. “Maybe we can find some other colors! Let’s look around!”
Carefully creeping around the falls, Adderheart was attentively keeping an eye on any stirring in the bushes or the sound of scuttling. Alas, it seemed to be empty. Perhaps the minimal prey they caught was all that was left.
Sighing, the she-cat’s tail drooped. “Man, I was hoping to find a different colored squirrel. Maybe they come in black, and black and white, and gray..” she trailed off,
shaking her head. “Maybe we can find more after leaf-bare. There’ll probably be more around.”

Riversplash nodded. “With the cold weather, I think we should head back before one of us catches a cold.”

Berryscratch padded up to catch up with the two. She stopped, heaving. “Phew! I caught you guys!” she panted, looking up. “Sorry..I was meaning to hunt with you guys..but Acornkit was being a pain on the tail.” she mewed, ducking her black and beige patched head, smiling cheekily. She shook herself then noticed Riversplash’s catch. “Nice! I never seen a white squirrel before!” she gasped in awe, looking at it and prodding at the limp body. She looked up, eyes gleaming. “Do you think there’s more of them?” she mewed hopefully as she took a deep breath. “I scent some!” she bounced excitedly before following the scent and dashing behind a prickly snow covered bramble.
Oriolepaw didn’t stop running until he was out of breath. He hoped Flameheart wouldn’t follow; the last thing the apprentice wanted was to have to get disciplined a second time or be told that he was a terrible apprentice. Would Sparrowstar let him become a warrior if he’d only seen one of the borders? He hoped so. That would spare him from having to finish this tour with Flameheart.
Sitting down to catch his breath, the orange-and-black tom focused on the layer of decaying leaves under his paws to try to calm himself down.
Traipsing through the territory, Flameheart felt bad about not scolding Oriolepaw in a non-aggressive way. Of course, she wasn't too harsh, but she did seem to come off a bit more strict than she intended. Keeping her nose in the air in an attempt to find the younger tom, the orange and white warrior quickened her pace after realizing the danger Oriolepaw was susceptible to. What if he got injured? What if he is lost? What if he crossed a border?
"Oriolepaw, where are you? Look, I'm sorry for being harsh!" she called for the apprentice, hoping he hadn't gone too far and gotten lost. Coming across the orange-and-black furred tom, she began to smile and slowly walked toward him. "I apologize for my tone back there... I should've watched it better. Could you forgive me? I swear, it was not my intention to come across that way."

”I’ve been wondering the same thing,” Adderheart replied to Berryscratch, tail twitching in amusement at the fact that the she-cat had the same question she had. Gleefully bounding after her fellow warrior, Adderheart made sure to step lightly in order to not scare away the prey.
Sure enough, only a few paces away, a white squirrel sat, nibbling on some sort of nut. “Look!” she quietly exclaimed, excitement pooling inside of her at the fact that they’d just found another rare squirrel.
“We’re gonna have to tell everyone when we get back! Two white squirrels! Maybe we can find other colors too!” She could feel the enthusiasm of Berryscratch radiating off the she-cat. Riversplash, however, seemed indifferent.
Roseraven saw the apprentice stammer and assumed it had something to do with the blood her paws were caked in. She quickly took a few steps to stand in the water, turning the stream slightly red. Now, Flameheart had joined them. The warrior looked stern and wanted an explanation out of the apprentice, who seemed concerned. She hoped they had a good reason. Her heartbeat excellerated when Flameheart suggested she heal Crocuspaw. "I d-I don't think...That's not a good idea. I can't, I'll just...Sundust will handle it." she muttered. Flameheart's attention was back on the apprentice, and she was glad. "Yes, let's escort Crocuspaw to camp, then they nay explain."

Crocus looks at Rose when she turns away to wash her paws, noting suddenly the tinge to them as the water rinses it away.
His eyes follow her movements for a moment, captivated by the simplicity, before Flameheart's suggestion reaches his ears. The wiry brown apprentice tips his head at her, puzzling over the manner in which she was speaking to him.
But he was too distracted to give more heed to it... If he was going to be seeing Sundust, he needed to know what to say. Without another word, the tom shifts his gaze off of either cat and nods.
//This'll be my last post in this roleplay, feel free to continue it at the camp!
Flameheart
Not a good idea? I mean... I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have more practiced paws handle the situation. Flameheart nodded in understanding with Roseraven's request. Crocuspaw was quiet, but there was no complaining from him. Good. I'll take that as an agreement."Let's get going then, Crocuspaw, stay close."
The young warrior flicked her tail and began padding back to camp, she'd have to report the return of their Clanmate to Sparrowstar later. Sundust will take care of Crocuspaw's injuries, so I don't have to worry about them. It is odd that Roseraven's not okay with tending to him herself, but perhaps she's traumatized by the scent or sight of blood... I don't blame her if that's the case.
"Roseraven, I trust you can escort Crocuspaw to the medicine den once we're back at camp? I have to tell Sparrowstar Crocuspaw has returned to us."

Asterdance peered curiously at their brother's mouth, picking up the words he spoke. The bobtail enjoyed Spiderthroat spoke. His words were always well-pronounced, easy to read. "Yeaa, now you ain't, " The warrior rumbled with a snort, wiggling ever so closer towards him. They were cautious, but with careful steps they attempted to lay their body on top of Spiderthroat's.
Specifically with the goal of kneading in mind. Yes. Their paws were very much attempting to make bread against Spiderthroat's fur. He was very good dough-material, as one can see. Expect, no, no! Someone! Someone had to sit up!! Dramatically, Asterdance rolled away, staring up at him with a small pout. "Was tryna to get comfy on you, " They responded with a dramatic huff. Maybe if they looked cool enough, he would lay back down for cuddles. It was a pretty good plan.
"Though, I was actually exploring!! Finding my new-found freedom, the cool stuff. Mature things. I like running. Do you like running? OH! Yeah, YEAH! I was - I was running. And then you appeared. Obviously, you looked like you needed company so, pew, here I am!" They babbled, stretching lazily to pick a petal off of their arm. Blep. It was a nice day. Asterdance looked back to Spiderthroat.
Spiderthroat
The Calico rolled his eyes at his....his sibling. (Oh, that made his heart hurt. Was it okay to call this cat he'd grown protective over his sibling?) Letting out a snort at the other's antics. Than, he watched curiously as the smaller slunk forwards, ever so slightly. Still wondering what it was Asterdance was planning before they finally decided to lay themselves across his back. Ah. Cuddles, yes this is what those were surely. Although now they were far too small to fit perfectly on his back. No longer the size of a pebble. An over dramatisized class of measurement sure, but in his eyes that's just how big Asterdance used to be once. Small and incredibly squishable.
Only for that comfort to go away, with an even more dramatic huff from Asterdance. It earned another snort from the Senior Warrior. "I don't know what your problem is, no bones here just muscle." he hummed. Maybe the back was now far to small of a surface, or maybe it was how he was laid out. If anyone saw what he was to do, he would toss them into the water. Or kill them than toss them into the water. Either way, he would never live it down. "C'mon." he huffed out, splaying himself out a little. There. More surface area, surely good enough to get comfortable on.
He had his head angled so he was watching as his ... sibling ... explained their adventure. Or their attempt at an adventure. A chuckle coming from Spiderthroat at their inability to focus."Runnin? Were you runnin from anybody? From anything?" he asked, it set a few alarms off in his head. What would other's want with Asterdance being hurt? Surely no one would want to hurt them, they were quite literally Starlight. At least that's what Spiderthroat believed.
