The calico tom padded out the warriors den with a yawn, squinting as his lime eyes adjusted to the light. Finally able to see, he glanced around the clearing, watching the cats socialize for a moment before remembering the meeting. Oh that's right, he had a little brat now didn't he. Well, if he was up it was about time his apprentice did too. Stifling a yawn, he made his way to the apprentices den. "Shrikepaw, wake up fluff butt, time for training," he called into the den, annoyance think in his voice as he straightened out the fur on his tail. It always got so tangled while he slept, such a nusiance.

Shrikepaw blinked awake from where he was partially buried in his sisters fur yawning wide to display a great many fangs. Ah his new mentor was a morning person wasnt he. Great. This would be irritating to the night owl tom but he supposed he'd have to deal with it wouldnt he, its not like there was a way to escape his duties in the morning without either getting in trouble or losing potential skills he might need.

So with yet another yawn Shrikepaw padded out into the clearing nodding at Windstrike as he did a quick groom of his pelt. At least with how course it was he really didn't need to do much other than straighten it out a bit before he was ready to go. "Whats the plan for today?" He asked doing a quick scan of the clearing to see who was awake.

He glanced up from his fur as the tom walked out, examining him quietly before standing up with a frown. "Well first I'm gonna learn who taught you to groom yourself," he mumbled under his breath, taking a paw and smoothing back some fur sticking up at the top of Shrikepaw's head. After wiping his claws off on the ground, he cleared his throat as he looked down on them skeptically. "That depends, how much did that fleabag of a mentor teach you before?"

He had planned to start with battle training but he wanted this cat out of his fur as soon as possible, meaning he had to teach him what he didn't know. Of course they were still going to do battle training, just not immediately. Glancing around, he watched the cats start to filter out of the dens, groaning as the clearing began to get louder.

Looking up at the warrior Shrikepaw bore the fussing over his appearance with all the grace he was able to muster. Which is to say he ignored it completely. Moving on he let out a soft snort at the question "Nothing. Squirrelbounce introduced himself and I haven't seen him since. However, I was included in a battle training patrol run by Dogsnarl so I know somewhat how to fight through that. I do know enough through watching others Im sure I can make my hunting skills passible but Im also going to be doing a large spar with my sister soon so you wont see me complain about more battle training."

He shrugged no matter what he would no doubt need to do a hunting lesson and battle lesson with Windstrike regardless of how much training he got from others so it didnt matter to him what order it occurred. "It's your choice." Besides it would say a lot about Windstrikes character by which he chose and to Shrikepaw any and all information was only beneficial.

From what Windstrike heard, basically nothing. The nerve of these cats, get assigned and then dissapear. Rolling his eyes with a sigh, he turned and started out of camp, mentioning with his ear to follow. "Ok, assuming you already know our borders, which I hope you do at this point," he started, glancing back, hoping they at least knew the territory even if they hadn't recieved training, "We can start with hunting for now and move onto battle training later." It had taken a moment to decided which to start with, but considering he had already had fighting experience, they could revist that later when he became more associated with how Shrikepaw learned.

Pausing at the entrance to camp, he smirked as he looked back for a split second. "This is now your first training session, so now I want to test you," he explained, stretching his haunches quickly, "I want you to find me by scent, I'll be somewhere in the territory and once you find me we can start with hunting." If you thought of it, this on it's own could be a lesson. But he didn't stop to have that thought, as with a flick of his tail, he was off, darting through the grass and making sure to leave his scent behind as much as possible.
