Geyserpaw nodded, but he wanted to change the subject. “Anyays, what's it like, being a warrior?” he asked curiously, his silvery-gray tail tip twitching happily. He'd always wanted to know, but whenever he asked, warriors just gave him a disapproving look and walked away. He didn't like that, even if he'd never express his dislike for that.

Whitescar turned his briefly to see what was on his blind side then replied "To be honest its not that different from been a apprentice except you don't have a mentor and there's higher standards, you would have to ask a more accomplished and liked warrior to understand the importance of been a warrior." he looked sternly down on the apprentice "don't worry about that enjoy your time being a apprentice, trust me if I could I would go back to being one." he admitted.

Geyserpaw tilted his head, listening intently to Whitescar. He realized that the warrior had seemed to have forgotten his earlier hostility, and was being rather kind now. Geyserpaw smiled happily, glad that he'd succeeded in helping Whitescar, even if it was an extremely small way. “Oh. Do you still have to clean the elders' pelts?” that sounded pretty good to him if he didn't, although he held his tongue. “Cool.” he meowed, wrapping his tail clumsily over his paws.

Whitescar mrowwed with laughter "no I do not have to care to the elders, that is one of the high lights of been a warrior though they do tell good stories". he sat down to ease the throbbing pain from his hind legs.

Geyserpaw joined in Whitescar's laughter, his bright blue hues dancing with amusement. “That they do, though I don't believe half of 'em.” he replied, raising one paw and licking it before drawing it over his ears, his bought of laughter fading so that he could catch his breath.

"Hi, there." he meowed, waving his tail in greeting. "I'm Ravenkit. What's your name?" The tom pawed his half-eaten fresh-kill closer to him, wondering if she'd talk to him or scamper off.
The fluffier feline looked as though she wanted to jump backwards, away from what her mind translated as 'danger...' but then she stopped and cocked her head to the side. Blossomkit was always skittish-- at least, for a good deal of the time she was. And now she was worried that this tom might be watching her, staring at her and waiting for the right moment to spring. Something that she very desperately did not want to happen. Swallowing, the fluffy cat padded a little closer to him, her hues wary but friendly all the same. If he was like her, just looking for a friend... then she wouldn't want to be the one to scare him away. That would be rude. And if there was one thing Blossomkit hated, it was being rude. "H-hi. I'm Blossomkit... it's really nice to meet you," She mewed with the smallest of smiles, a picture-perfect expression with her tail curled around her paws. Now, one thing that was obvious about Blossomkit when you looked at her was that she was almost too old to be a kit. But then, what was she doing with her suffix and hanging around the nursery. See, she didn't look like she belonged there. And yet here she was. Well, her apprentice ceremony was being delayed... and for good reason, every time she had tried, she had simply been too nervous. Not to mention she'd been injured during the Evil Era and now walked with a limp. So, while she might not belong there, this was her home... like it or not.

Ravenkit offered Blossomkit another friendly smile as she introduced herself, and he perked his ears. "It's nice to meet you, Blossomkit! It's nice to meet a cat who doesn't..." he trailed off, brushing his tail along the ground. What if she didn't know about his parents? Would telling her scare her off, or make her hate him?

Ravenkit sighed; it wasn't his fault his father was a kittypet, or that his mother had left the Clan to be one, too. He had chosen to stay in his birth Clan, and yet he was treated as a kittypet by so many others!

"Er, never mind." he mewed quickly. Desperately trying to change the subject, his gaze flickered to the mouse he had abandoned. "Did... did you want the rest? I'm pretty full, and I don't want to waste the food that StarClan provided us."

A cat that doesn't what? Like most kits, Blossomkit was always curious. Constantly exploring her habitat to see what was around her, and learning from her mistakes... learning from others' mistakes... when she saw a kit foolishly trying to climb a tree and the branch broke from under them, sending them crashing to the ground, or when they tried to make a jump that Blossomkit already knew was too far but they insisted anyways and hurt themselves, she learned not to do those things. Or, when she snuck out into the territory and came back with her pelt tangled up and matted with branches and leaves and her Mother was angry, she quickly learned not to try and go in small bushes again. All of these things had contributed to the cat that Blossomkit was now. A healthy, hardworking member of RiverClan... and one that would continue to be that way for many moons to come.

Because after all, as long as she stayed out of tight bushes and was smart enough to know not to get herself in trouble, she would be fine. Wouldn't she? Of course! There's nothing to worry about, the brown and kit reassured herself. And, just as long as she kept being afraid? Or kept her injury? She wouldn't have to become an apprentice. That was an odd thing for a kit to fear. Most kits feared not becoming one, or never becoming a warrior, or fire, or bright lights, small spaces, thunder, lightning... but Blossomkit feared becoming an apprentice in the first place. After all, what horrors might await her in the apprentices' den? She was scared. She was terrified. And she knew that eventually she was going to have to learn to face her fears.

But that day was not today, and for that, Blossomkit was thankful. At the black tom's next words, her ears pricked up and she looked at him a little confusedly for a moment before smiling. "Sure! Thank you," She said, gingerly stretching out a paw and pinning the mouse by the tail as she dragged it towards her. The poor creature had been ripped apart-- though it saddened Blossomkit to see any animal like that, she wasn't complaining. She'd rather eat animals then the nuts, berries and leaves that their prey did. The very thought made her stomach twist as she took a bite of the fleshy mouse. It was good. Very, very good... the taste made her mouth practically water. A little more hungrily, Blossomkit began to take slightly larger bites and pretty soon, the mouse was nothing but bones. Delicately, she licked the blood from her maw and sat down, curling her tail around her paws as she glanced up at the tom.

Ravenkit waited patiently for Blossomkit to finish the prey, his tail curled neatly over his paws. He tiled his head up towards the sky and closed his eyes, letting the cool spring breeze blow over his face and ruffle his otherwise sleek pelt. A few small birds flew overhead, and Ravenkit sneezed. StarClan-cursed allergies.

When Blossomkit was finished, he brushed a thin layer of dust over the bones, then looked at the she-kit again. "So... I haven't seen you around too often. Are you almost an Apprentice?"

When Blossomkit was finished, he brushed a thin layer of dust over the bones, then looked at the she-kit again. "So... I haven't seen you around too often. Are you almost an Apprentice?"
And there it was. The question that she had been dreading. Been avoiding. Been hoping that he wouldn't ask her, and now he had. A shudder went down her spine and her hues looked as though they were about to well up with tears. Apprentice. That dreaded word that was ruining her life, that StarClan-forsaken word that she hated so strongly... apprentice. That word that she was sure would keep her from ever becoming one, she was just scared of everything and weak and mindless and stupid and... the she cat looked down at her paws and sniffled slightly. "No." She answered after a moment. That was a lie-- and Blossomkit hated lying-- but she wasn't able to keep from it unless she wanted more questions and had to reveal her secret. Until she couldn't stand it any longer.

While it had only been a few seconds, to Blossomkit, it felt as though she were ninety moons old and she and Ravenkit were still kits, forever young and sitting in this same spot of the clearing. Her new safe spot. "I mean yes! I mean... no! I mean... well, it's kind of complicated but I guess you'll find out soon enough, I'm scared to become an apprentice. Not to mention I have an injury that's keeping me from becoming one, thank StarClan, but I'm scared it's going to heal and then I'll have to be an apprentice and I really, really don't want to!" Blossomkit's voice reached a wail that was normally heard on younger kits. But she couldn't help it. She was truly terrified. This felt so real to her.
