Excitement bubbled up in Moonkit's chest, and it was hard for her not to squeal out loud and bounce up and down. She was going to become an apprentice! Still, she suppressed those feelings and tried to look composed as she padded towards the Highpeak.

Thawkit padded out of the nursery quickly. What was going on? Was she going to become an apprentice so soon? This was bad... She looked around the crowd, and spotting Frostkit, padded toward her and sat down beside her.

Thawkit's icy amber eyes stared at Frostkit.
"What do medicine cats even do?" she asked. She had never understood what a medicine cat did, as no one had ever explained it to her.
