Bouncepaw

Bouncepaw shot up from his little hermit corner. His tail shot high up into the air as he strode into the nursery- it smelled different, it smelled sickly. He regarded the smaller kit with concern, pausing for a beat before circling around, standing across from Ebonyfang.

He looked to Ebonyfang, eyes glinting with a hint of anxiety.

Berrykit moaned. Why was everyone making a big deal out of her? It hardly every happened. Stifling a cough, she blinked miserably up at Bouncepaw. She knew Bouncepaw was kinder than Ebonyfang. Less experience, but it didnt hardly matter to her. Surely he knew enough not to poison her. And Ebonyfang was a good healer, beyond everything.

Frostkit watched as the ball skittered toward Mumblekit. That was probably a better decision than chucking at her again. She couldn't duck away from it this time. He glanced up at the sun shining through the den and was shocked that it was already setting. He hadn't realized how long they had been playing in the nursery.

Silverkit sits at the entrance of the nursery, her tail curled around her, debating whether to go explore, or stay with her sister in the nursery. She sighs and pads back into the nursery, deciding to stay. She could go explore tomorrow.

Ivykit bats at the ball of moss on the floor. She looks up to see her sister, silverkit, walk over to her. "Silver, wanna play with me?" She asks, batting the ball to her, though she misses by quite a lot.

The ball... the ball... it was still alive! It was rolling for her, coming to attack her! She couldn't duck, though. It was already on the ground. For a second, she stood in terror. She watched her short, lonely life flash before her eyes. The time she sat in the corner. The time she sat in the other corner. The last time she'd seen her mother. The time she sat in that same corner. The time she went outside. Then she jumped with a shriek, right as the ball rolled under her. She landed and scrambled away.

Ivykit jumps to catch the ball of moss. She manages to catch it with both paws . . . and promptly lands on her face. "Oof, I'm alright." Se scrambles back to her feet and shakes her head, before licking one paw and swiping it over her ear. "Where'd it go?"

Ebonyfang watched Bounce pad in. "We need to get her to the medicine den, so it doesn't spread to the other kits and queens.", he meowed. If they could possibly stop it from spreading that would be great. The medicine cat just needed his apprentice to make sure he didn't hurt her. Ebonyfang grabbed Berrykit by the scruff and as gently as he could pulled her out of the nursery.

Bouncepaw stared at the sickly kit, wincing at the rough sounding coughing. He made his way past Ebonyfang and into the nursery- the least he could do was be proactive and make a nest for the poor thing.

As he passed by her, a tinge of calm washed over him, it was so odd, but something told him things would be fine, no matter the outcome.
