Fennel shrugged nonchalantly, ”Sure, now come down here so I can take that bell off.” He mewed. He’d probably just take any place in the den. Just as long as it wasn’t drafty

"Ahh, a stroll through the forest, it's been too long since i've been out here." Cosmo said to himself. Ever since he got lost downtown his Humans never let him back out, but today was the day he finally was let back out. The last time he experienced the forest was with some strays, wasn't one's name... Dirt? Dirt! He was talking some nonsense about clans and whatnot. Cosmo didn't know what he was going on about.
Man did he miss Marble. He'd met her a few times but.. something about her just made him feel alive. "I wonder how life's been treati-AAHH" One wrong step sent Cosmo tumbling down and hill. For what was 15 seconds felt like days as he fell. Finally, he reached the bottom. The fall didn't hurt that much, but he was certainly going to feel sore for the next few days. Suddenly, he heard the sound of... cats? Just a few though.. but he was close enough. He followed the noise to, abandoned buildings? Well, there was no way he was getting back up that hill, so this would have to do... for now. It was getting dark and he could risk being out in the open.
He decided to not engage with the strays and poked around in the buildings. Not any building would work for his Kittypet self, It would have to be secure and comfortable.
|
"You alright there, house cat?"
Emerging from where she'd watched the entire encounter in the shadows, Flute trotted towards Cosmo, blue eyes looking innocent and inquisitive. He'd taken quite a fall, and from her hidden place in the shadow of the abandon building, she'd had to bear witness to the entire scene. It usually wasn't in her nature to approach others, as she tending to keep to herself or at the side of her brother, but something about this tom amused her. Perhaps it was the fall, perhaps it was the way she'd caught him talking to himself - as there were no other cats around him at the time of his descent.
She finally reached a spot in front of him, eyes still trained on him as she waited for an answer. The she-cat made no move to help him, so even if he wasn't alright, her presence would do anything but help. Instead, paws placed in front of her, she took a seat, the tip of her tail flicking back and forth before it finally rested on her paws. "You took quite a tumble there. Hopefully nothing is sprained or out of place. That would surely be a shame."

"O-okay!" He mewed and hopped down. Shark padded up to Fennel and lifted his head so his face wouldn't be ripped off while the bell was being removed. The grey tom's ears were no longer flat, but he was still a little wary of all the other cats.

Re: Fisher's Point
~ Cinnamon ~
The brown-swirled she-cat rolled her eyes at the orange and black tom as she passed. He was strange. She’d never met a cat who is obsessed with.. a tree. Then again, she hadn’t met very many cats. Cinnamon had a tempting urge to taste life beyond being stuck behind a fence all day, even if that tom was odd. She could meet new cats, catch prey, have a new life.. it sounded nice. She liked being free. She wandered on, her green eyes glittering while her tail flicked back and forth in a pattern. The brown-swirled she-cat stopped in her tracks when she heard a scuffling in the woods. It smelled like prey.
”First catch,” Cinnamon breathed to herself with a grin.
She had seen others do it when she would sit on top of her fence. She practiced, and hopefully it would pay off now. The brown-swirled she-cat got into a crouch, her belly low but not touching the ground exactly. She gave a glance with her green eyes backwards to make sure she had flattened her tail correctly. She gave one deep breath, then having an excited smile on her face.
“This is it,” she whispered, quiet so the prey wouldn’t hear.
She creeped towards it, focusing. The scent floated in her direction. She stuck out her tongue slowly and gave a wipe to her muzzle. Suddenly, her tail decided to relax.
“Darn!” she hissed.
Not letting the fail discourage her, she used her pounce and ran after it as fast as she could. Finally, she cornered the mouse in a hollowed out cave, then swatted it with her claw. The mouse squealed, it’s last noise it made. There was a satisfied expression on Cinnamon’s face as she looked down at the mouse, bleeding out as it swung helplessly on her claw. Then she let her gaze fly up, allowing her to see the hard stone walls. There was a clump of rough moss in the corner. There was definitely a cat living here, though their scent was now stale.
”This would make a good den..” the brown-swirled she-cat mewed.
She gave the idea some thought, then decided to accept it after a moment. This was just the beginning.

Re: Fisher's Point
Cosmo
__________
Cosmo heard something behind him and spun around to see what looked like to be a stray. Sure he liked being outside, but he liked being alone. Ever since he was a kitten Cosmo had been a loner. He was more independent then most kittypets but still enjoyed the company of his humans. But ever since his humans got another cat, he'd hated being around others, especially strays. His 'cousin' was so annoying! But, there was no point in ignoring this cat like an ass so he decided to talk. But he made sure to keep his guard up, strays could be dangerous.
"I think I am." He shook his arms and legs to confirm. "The most i'll probably be is sore, but once I get back to my humans i'll be fine." Cosmo was a bit embarrassed but he didn't know this cat and probably wouldn't see them ever again. He was just sure not to bring up why he fell. Looking towards the hill he said "I would go back now but its getting dark and I don't know these parts. Might as well stay here for the night." He somewhat knew how to hunt, but it wouldn't come down to that... would it? "What brings you around here? Seems like there's a grouping of strays here. I don't know how i didn't noticed.. I live real close by." @spade

Fennel look at it sideways before swiping a claw and pulling down hard as he could. The bell tumbled to the floor. “There. You start on the nests, I’ll go hunt. Put my nest where you like, just make sure it’s comfortable.” he mewed before turning to leave, he was going to get something really good, maybe a nice fat pigeon, or two, one for Shark.

Re: Fisher's Point
// @:Grimmlin:
Flute tipped her head to one side, studying him as he spoke. He had his guard up, that was the first thing that stood out. She'd have to do something about that in order to gain his trust, but other than that he seemed rather pleasant. Typical for a house cat, as most rogues were more jagged and rough around the edges - even loners, who for the most part weren't as vicious as the rogues were known to be.
"Well, keep an eye on that. Some bored stray sees that you're hurting, they'll definitely exploit that for their gain." A slight hint of concern laced her voice, and the molly made it look like she was genuinely concerned about his well-being, which actually couldn't be further from the truth. She was just bored, and since her brother Chief had gone off to explore on his own, she was alone here with only her sarcasm to keep her company. It was time for a distraction.
As for what she was doing here, Flute gave a shrug of her shoulders, getting to her paws and glancing around as if surveying the building they were in. "Oh, you know. Curiosity. Boredom. The chance to help a struggling stranger." The last word held a bit of a joking tone as she leveled her gaze at him, offering a wink and a smirk before continuing to glance around her. "What do you take of the cats who have already gathered here? Think they're trustworthy? I wonder if any of them even know how to hunt."

Cosmo
__________
"I'll try my best, the stray's do get pretty aggressive the further into this forest you go." The 'strays' he was referring to were the clan cats, which he had met a few. Though he had barely any knowledge about the clans. All he knew was that for some odd reason, a LOT of cats lived in this forest.
Cosmo gave a small smirk to the cat's comment. At least they had some sense of humor, maybe he'd actually enjoy talking to another cat for once.
Cosmo took a glance at the other cats around him. They all looked... pretty normal. He'd seen he fair share of nasty cats, but these ones just looked like cats needing a place to live. Cosmo shrugged saying "I dunno.. maybe. You can never trust most strays... at least at first, i learned that a long while ago." He decided not to bring up what happened but continued "Same. Most of 'em look like scavengers. I'm surprised they would even leave the city." Although some he could admit looked like they had been braving the wild for a bit, most just looked like boring city cats. "Hopefully we don't have to baby 'em if you know what I mean." This cat looked like they knew what they were doing. Certainly more then Cosmo. @spade

The breeze felt night as Chief made his way around the outskirts of where it seemed a rather ragtag group of cats had decided to assemble. He didn't plan on interacting with any of them yet - and hoped that his sister Flute was following his lead. Before they'd arrived, they had both agreed to keep themselves hidden until they were able to meet back up and discuss if they should call this place home, or keep moving. He was all for the 'keep moving' option, but Flute had grown tired of the constant traveling, always voicing the need for stability. The tom huffed, rolling his eyes. Stability. How boring.
Rounding a horizontal-laying trash can, he came upon a rather peculiar site. Was this a house cat attempting to hunt? It had been quite some time since the tom had come across such an amusing site, so he decided to crouch down and watch. As he predicted, the mouse escaped the first attempt, only to be cornered later and killed. Dumbass. "That was quite the catch." It had been a last minute decision, but Chief decided to reveal himself. He'd take the heat from Flute later - this was too good an opportunity to pass up. "I bet you're a really good hunter. That mouse didn't even stand a chance!"

Re: Fisher's Point
// @:Grimmlin:
After all the moons spent only having her brother to talk to - who could be quite annoying and arrogant at times, in her view - it was refreshing to hear another voice. Perhaps this would become a cat she could talk to frequently. This was exactly why she had wanted to start thinking about settling down and grow some roots. Convincing her kin of that, however, would be another journey in its entirety. "Seems like you've got your head on straight. Trust should be earned, not given." Ironic, since she was hiding a majority of her personality from this newcomer and trying to force his hand into trusting her. Usually it worked quicker than this, with her charm and grace. But Flute was up for a challenge.
"Oh goodness. I do not want to be responsible for this load of kits. Probably never even seen a mouse, let alone a few of them." She chuckled, although the thought disgusted her. Leading a group of cats, all with differing opinions on what to do and how to run things? She'd much rather hang out in the sidelines, working her magic under the cloak of someone else. "I hope they at least know how to stay alive. We're quite far from civil grounds, as you'd mentioned earlier the farther you get into the forest, the more savage cats become." A glance in Cosmo's direction. "I'm Ruby, by the way." Yes, the lie slipped out like a stream over rocks, easy and unbothered, almost as if her name was in fact Ruby. This tom had no business knowing her real name. She was certain she'd reveal it soon enough, but for how she'd be Ruby - the caring, sweet, but quick witted cat who'd been around these parts for moons.
